Գիտնականները մի շատ հետաքրքիր նյութ են հրապարակել Nature Medicine ամսագրում: Հետազոտությունների արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ ասպրոզին հորմոնի նվազեցումը, որը կարգավորում է գլյուկոզայի քանակն արյան մեջ, նվազեցնում է սովի զգացողությունը, հետևաբար նաև նվազում է ընդունվող սննդի քանակը:

Բեյլորի Բժշկական կոլեջի հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ գեր մարդմանց մոտ FBN1 գենը մուտացիայի է ենթարկված: Այս մարդկանց մոտ բացակայում է ոչ մեծ, սակայն շատ կարևոր սպիտակուցային մաս, որից էլ կախված է ասպրոզինը:
