Ծնողների ազդեցությունը երեխաների կյանքի վրա չափ չունի: Հաճախ մեր ներգործությունը այնքան ուժեղ է լինում երեխաների վրա, որ արհամարհում ենք նրանց սեփական  պահանջմունքները:  Կարևոր է չմոռանալ, որ մայրը և հայրը պետք է զբաղվեն ոչ միայն իրենց երեխաների կրթությամբ և դաստիարակությամբ, այլև ձևավորել նրանց կենսական առաջնայնությունները: Միայն ձեզնից է կախված, թե ինչպիսի անհատականություն կձևավորվի ձեր երեխայից: Այս կարևոր իրողությանը չպետք է թեթևամտորեն վերաբերել:

Իմացեք Պիգմալիոնի էֆեկտի մասին, որը ցույց կտա, թե որքան ուժեղ են ազդում ծնողները իրենց երեխաների վրա:

Հունական միֆաբանության մեջ Պիգմալիոնը Կիպրոսի արքան էր: Մի անգամ նա այնքան գեղեցիկ արձան է կերտում, որ սիրահարվում է նրան: Տիրակալը մշտապես զրուցում էր նրա հետ և նրան այնպես էր վերաբերվում, կարծես իրական կին լիներ: Նա նրան անգան անուն էր տվել՝ Գալաթեա:Արքայի սերն այնքան մեծ էր, որ Աֆրոդիտե աստվածուհին, տեսնելով դա, խղճաց նրան և հոգի պարգևեց արձանին:  Պիգմալիոնն ու իր ստեղծագործությունը վերջապես կարող էին լինել միասին:

Այս միֆն օգնում է բցատրել հոգեբանական  ֆենոմենը՝ հայտնի որպես Պիգմալիոնի էֆեկտ:  երբեն մեր սպասումներն ու ցանկություններն այնքան հսկայական են լինում, որ մեր երեխաները, այսպես թե այնպես ստիպված են դառնալ մեր մեկ այլ տարբերակը: Պիգմալիոնի էֆեկտը կարող է լինել ինչպես դրական, այնպես էլ բացասական: Բոլոր դեպքերում պետք է ձգտել խուսափել դրա առաջացումից, քանի որ այդպիսի ծնողական ազդեցությունը շատ խիստ հոգեբանական ճնշում է երեխայի վրա:

Բնականաբար մեզնից յուրաքանչյուրը կցանկանար տեսնել իր երեխային որպես  ամենախելացի, ամենագեղեցիկ և հաջողակ մարդ շրջապատում, այդ պատճառով ենթագիտակցորեն ակնկալում ենք  նրանց կողմից համապատասխանություն մեր ակնկալիքներին: սակայն այս դեպքում երեխան կարող է զգալ ուժեղ հոգեբանական ճնշում ծնողների կողմից: Նա ստիպված է լինում անցնել մեծ տագնապների միջով և  նրա սեպական արժանապատվության զգացումը ենթարկվում է քննադատության:

Իհարկե մեզ բոլորիս համար շատ կարևոր է, որ մեր երեխաները մեծանանա տաղանդավոր : Բայց չի կարելի  պահանջել նրանցից, որ վերջիններս լիովին համապատասխանեն մեր սպասումներին: Ձեր երեխան պարտավոր չէ լինել այն, ինչը չէ և անել այն, ինչը չի ցանկանում:

Ծնողները պարտավոր են ընդունել իրենց երեխաներին այնպիսին, ինչպիսին կան: Խթանել, որ լինեն լավագույնը, սակայն չճնշել: Լսել և հասկանալ ինչ են ուզում նրանք ամեն դեպում: : Հիշեք, որ չնայած ձեր ուժեղ ազդեցությանը ձեր երեխաների վրա, վերջնական որոշումը նրանք իրենք պետք է ընդունեն:  Մի վերածեք ձեր երեխաներին սքանչելի արձանի՝ իրականացնելով ձեր սեփական սպասումները, հույսերը և նախընտրությունները:
