Հայաստանի հետ Համապարփակ և ընդլայնված գործընկերությւան համաձայնագրի ստորագրումը ցույց է տալիս Եվրոպական միության կողմից համագործակցության  պատրաստակամությունը: ԵՄ ԱլԳ գագաթնաժողովից հետո կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսում այդ մասին ասաց Եվրոպական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ժան-Կլոդ Յունկերը՝ ընդգծելով Հայատանում գրանցված առաջընթացը: 

«Ես մասնակցել եմ «Արևելյան գործընկերության» բոլոր գագաթնաժողովներին, և սա առաջին անգամն է, երբ ղեկավարները խոսում են բացեիբաց և անմիջականորեն: Կարող ենք նկատելի առաջընթաց արձանագրել Ռիգայում երկու տարի առաջ կայացած գագաթնաժողովի համեմատ: Խոսքն այդ թվում և Հայաստանում գրանցված առաջընթացի և ձեռքբերումների մասին է, ինչը նշանակում է կայուն աշխատանք, կրթություն և ուժեղ տնտեսություն»,- ասաց  Յունկերը:

Նրա խոսքով, վերջին երկու տարիների ընթացքում մենք տարածաշրջանն ավելի կայուն ենք դարձրել, և բոլոր կողմերը համաձայն են, որ կայությունը պետք սկսկվի տանը:

«Այսինքն, Եվրոպական միությունն այդ հարցվում կարող է օգտակար լինել, սակայն կայունությունը հարկավոր է տանը սկսել: Մարդիկ պետք է ունենան կրթություն, աշխատանք և ապրեն ուժեղ տնտեսության պայմաններում»,- նշեց Յունկերը:

Նա շեշտեց, որ Եվրոպական Միության աջակցությունը ԱլԳ երկրներին կենտրոնանում է հենց այդ խնդիրների վրա: Ըստ նրա, 2009թ. սկսած՝ Եվրամիությունը 1.5 միլիարդ եվրոյի աջւակցություն է տրամադրել տարածաշրջանի երկրներին:
