Այս աղջիկը 20 տարեկան է, բնակվում է Հարավային Էֆիոպիայում, ինչպես տեսնում եք նրա ներքևի շրթունքին ամրացված է մետաղյա ափսե: Ստանալու համար շրթունքի այսպիսի ձգվածության, երեք տարի շարունակ տեղադրվել են տարբեր չափսերի ափսեներ: Որպիսի ափսեն պահվի, նրանք նույնիսկ հեռացնում են երկու ատամ:

Տեսնելով այս երևույթը, մենք կարծում ենք, որ մուրսիները վայրի են, սարսափելի և դաժան: Սակայն իրականությունը փոքր ինչ այլ է. Իրականում այս սովորությունը նրանց մոտ պահպանվել է հին ժամանակներից, երբ ծնողները փորձել են տգեղացնել իրենց աղջիկներին, որպիսի նրանց ստրկության չտանեն. Պոկում էին մազերը, հեռացնում ատամները, անցքեր անում ականջներին և շրթունքներին, նրանց մեջ տեղադրում փայտի կտոր, որի չափսը ժամանակի ընթացքում մեծացնում էին: Աղջիկները սարսափելի տեսք էին ստանում, վանում և վախեցնում էին բոլորին, այդ կերպ խուսափելով ստրկությունից: Այդ սովորույթը պահպանվել է մինչ օրս, ներկայումս այն դարձել է մուրսիների «այցեքարտը», նրանք մեծ հաճույքով լուսանկարվում են զբոսաշրջիկների հետ, իհարկե գումարի դիմաց:
