Նոյեմբերի 27-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Սիրիայի Արաբական Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Մուհամմադ Ահմադ Հաջ Իբրահիմին, տեղեկացնում է Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի տեղեկատվական համակարգը:

Նորին Սրբությունն իր բարեմաղթանքներն է ուղղել պրն. դեպանին նշանակման առիթով` ցանկանալով արդյունավետ առաքելություն` ի նպաստ երկու ժողովուրդների դարավոր բարեկամական հարաբերությունների և գործակցության շարունակական ամրապնդման: Վեհափառ Հայրապետը գոհունակությամբ է նշել հայ-սիրիական պատմական կապերի մասին` ընդգծելով հայ համայնքի կարևոր դերակատարությունը դրանց զորացման գործում:

Հանդիպմանը Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը և դեսպանը քննարկել են Սիրիայում տիրող կացությունը, անդրադարձան հակամարտության հետևանքով արձանագրված ցավալի կորուստներին և պատճառված ավերածություններին: Վեհափառ Հայրապետը մասնավոր մտահոգություն է արտահայտել Սիրիայի ժողովրդի, այդ թվում հայ համայնքի կրած տառապանքներին ու դժվարությունների, ինչպես նաև Մերձավոր Արևելքում քրիստոնեական ներկայության նվազման կապակցությամբ:

Գարեգին Բ Հայրապետն ընդգծել է, որ Հայոց Եկեղեցին շարունակելու է իր զորակցությունը բերել Սիրիայի ժողովրդին: Նորին Սրբությունը տեղեկացրել է, որ այս առնչությամբ Մայր Աթոռը մշտական կապի մեջ է Դամասկոսի հայոց թեմի առաջնորդի և Քույր Եկեղեցիների առաջնորդների հետ և ամեն ջանք ի գործ է դնում` միջեկեղեցական հանդիպումներին և տարբեր այլ հարթակներում միջազգային հանրության ուշադրությանը բերելու Մերձավոր Արևելքի խնդիրները և նպաստելու հակամարտության հանգուցալուծմանը: 

Նորին Սրբությունը դեսպանին նաև հայտնել է Հայաստանում հաստատված սիրիահայերին Մայր Աթոռի կողմից ցուցաբերվող հոգևոր և նյութական աջակցության մասին:

Դեսպան Մուհամմադ Ահմադ Հաջ Իբրահիմն իր հերթին շնորհակալություն է հայտնել դժվարին այս ժամանակաշրջանում Սիրիային ցուցաբերվող զորակցության համար: Դեսպանը առկա մարտահրավերների հաղթահարման գործում կարևորել է նաև սիրիահայ համայնքի դերը, որը մշտապես մեծ հարգանք է վայելել երկրում:

Սիրիայի դեսպանն Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսին փոխանցեց Սիրիայի նախագահ Բաշար Ալ-Ասադի և Սիրիայի գլխավոր մուֆթի Ահմադ Բադր Ալ-Դին Հասունի ողջույններն ու բարեմաղթանքները:

Աղոթելով Սիրիայում խաղաղության վերահաստատման համար` Վեհափառ Հայրապետը հայցել է Բարձրյալի հովանին և պաշտպանությունը Սիրիայի բարեսեր ժողովրդին և մաղթեց, որ երկրում սկսված վերականգնողական աշխատանքների արդյունքում ամենքը շուտով կարողանան վերադառնալ իրենց բնակության վայրերը:
