Կառավարությունը հավանություն տվեց Սյունիքի մարզի Մեղրի համայնքում ազատ տնտեսական գոտի ստեղծելու, «Մեղրի ազատ տնտեսական գոտի» փակ բաժնետիրական ընկերությունն ազատ տնտեսական գոտու կազմակերպիչ ճանաչելու, ինչպես նաև ազատ տնտեսական գոտու գործունեության վերաբերյալ կազմակերպչի կողմից ներկայացվող հաշվետվության ձևերը հաստատելու մասին նախագծին: ՀՀ տնտեսական զարգացման և ներդրումների նախարար Սուրեն Կարայանը նշեց, որ ազատ տնտեսական գոտու նպատակն է օտարերկրյա ուղղակի ներդրումների ներգրավումը, երկրի ներդրումային գրավչության բարձրացումը, արտահանման ուղղվածություն ունեցող գործունեության խթանումը, արտահանման ծավալների ավելացումը, նոր աշխատատեղերի ստեղծումն ու կայուն տնտեսական զարգացման խթանումը:

«ԱՏԳ-ի գործառնական տեսակը սահմանվում է որպես արտադրաարդյունաբերական և   լոգիստիկ՝ գյուղատնտեսության, մշակող արդյունաբերության, էլեկտրականության մատակարարման, մեծածախ առևտրի, փոխադրումների և պահեստային տնտեսության, մասնագիտական և տեխնիկական գործունեության, մշակույթի, զվարճությունների և հանգստի ոլորտներում»,- ասաց Կարայանը:

Նրա խոսքով, ազատ տնտեսական գոտին կզարգանա երկու փուլով՝ ավարտական փուլում ունենալով 70 հեկտար տարածք: «Գոտու գործունեության արդյունքում առաջիկա տարիներին նախատեսվում է ներգրավել 50-70 շահագործող կազմակերպություններ, որոնք կիրականացնեն 130-150 մլն դոլարի ներդրումներ, կստեղծվի շուրջ 1500 նոր աշխատատեղ: Արտահանման ծավալները կկազմեն 350 մլն դոլար»,- ասաց նախարարը:

Վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանի հարցին ի պատասխան՝ Կարայանը նշեց, որ դեկտեմբերի 15-ին տեղի կունենա ԱՏԳ-ի բացումը:

ԱՏԳ-ի գործունեության ժամկետը 50 տարի է:

Ակնկալվում է, որ Սյունիքի մարզում ազատ տնտեսական գոտու գործունեության մեկնարկը կնպաստի Հայաստանում ներդրումների, միջազգային ընկերությունների ներգրավմանը, արտահանման խթանմանը, ԵԱՏՄ, ԵՄ, ԻԻՀ և Մերձավոր Արևելքի շուկաներում հայկական արտադրանքի ճանաչմանն ու տարածմանը, ինչպես նաև նոր աշխատատեղերի ստեղծմանը:

Ծրագրի իրականացման նպատակով ՀՀ կառավարության կողմից հիմնադրվել է «ՄԵՂՐԻ ԱԶԱՏ ՏՆՏԵՍԱԿԱՆ ԳՈՏԻ» ՓԲԸ-ն: Ընկերության 100 տոկոս բաժնետոմսերի փաթեթը տնօրինվում է «Համահայկական ֆոնդ» փակ ոչ հրապարակային պայմանագրային ներդրումային ֆոնդի կողմից:

Կառավարությունն ակնկալում է մարզի տնտեսական աճի տեմպերի արագացում, բնակչության եկամուտների աճ և աղքատության կրճատում, բնակչության զբաղվածության աճ և գործազրկության մակարդակի նվազում, մարզի տնտեսության ճյուղերի համաչափ զարգացում (դիվերսիֆիկացիա) և այլն:
