Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն այսօր ընդունել է Գիտության և համաշխարհային հարցերով Պագուոշյան համաժողովների գլխավոր քարտուղար Պաոլո Կոտա-Ռամուսինոյին և շարժման խորհրդի անդամ Ալեքսանդր Նիկիտինին:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ողջունելով հյուրերին՝ Հանրապետության Նախագահը նշել է, որ քաջատեղյակ է աշխարհում ազդեցիկ գիտնականների, քաղաքական և հանրային գործիչների մասնակցությամբ Պագուոշյան շարժման հիմքում ընկած գաղափարներին, նպատակներին և այն ջանքերին, որ կառույցը ներդնում է ավելի անվտանգ, ապահով ու զանգվածային ոչնչացման զենքերից զերծ աշխարհ ունենալու գործում: Հայաստանը, ըստ Նախագահ Սարգսյանի, բարձր է գնահատում այն մարդկանց աշխատանքը, ովքեր անմիջականորեն ներգրավված են այս գործընթացում:

Նախագահը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը, բարեխղճորեն կատարելով զանգվածային զենքի չտարածման վերաբերյալ իր միջազգային պարտավորությունները, ներգրավված է այդ գործընթացում և ընդգծել է, որ կայունությունն ու խաղաղությունը Հայաստանի համար կենսական անհրաժեշտություն են: Այս համատեքստում Հանրապետության Նախագահը շեշտել է, որ Հայաստանն ամեն ինչ անում է, որպեսզի մեր տարածաշրջանը զերծ մնա պատերազմներից, և նրա համոզմամբ, դա է պատճառը, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդրում Հայաստանը մշտապես խոսում է փոխզիջումների մասին՝ համարելով, որ այսպիսի խնդիրները կարող են լուծվել միայն ու միայն բանակցությունների միջոցով:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության և շարժման վերաբերյալ Հանրապետության Նախագահի գնահատականի համար՝ Գիտության և համաշխարհային հարցերով Պագուոշյան համաժողովների գլխավոր քարտուղար Պաոլո Կոտա-Ռամուսինոն վստահեցրել է, որ շարժումն անում է ամեն հնարավորը տարբեր տարածաշրջաններում ժողովուրդների միջև հաղորդակցություն ապահովելու և դրան զուգահեռ միջուկային զենքից զերծ աշխարհ ունենալու համար:

Շարժման գլխավոր քարտուղարը Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանից համաձայնություն և աջակցություն է խնդրել 2019թ. Հանուն խաղաղության և միջազգային անվտանգության Պագուոշյան շարժման համաշխարհային համաժողովը Երևանում անցկացնելու համար՝ նշելով, որ Խաղաղության Նոբելյան մրցանակակիր շարժումը ներառում է շուրջ 60 երկիր: Պաոլո Կոտա-Ռամուսինոյի համոզմամբ, դա Հայաստանի համար նաև լավ հարթակ կարող է դառնալ բազմաթիվ հեղինակավոր գիտնականների ու քաղաքական գործիչների մասնակցությամբ համաժողովում ներկայացնելու երկրի դիրքորոշումն ու մոտեցումները խաղաղության, կայունության, անվտանգության հարցերի և այդ համատեքստում նաև ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի կարգավորման վերաբերյալ:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը ողջունել է Երևանում համաժողովի անցկացման գաղափարը և նշել, որ Հայաստանը պատրաստակամ է աջակցելու միջոցառումը բարձր մակարդակով կազմակերպելու և անցկացնելու գործում:
