Մենք գիտենք, կամ մեզ այդպես են ասել, որ նախագահի պաշտոնը քաղաքական է։ Ոչ միայն այդպես ասել են, այլ այդ պաշտոնի ձևավորումն ու գործառույթներն ի սկզբանե, եղել են այդպիսի՝ քաղաքական։ Հայաստանն ինչպես գիտենք, աշխարհի այն երկրներից է, որը չի տեղավորվում որևէ տրամաբանության կամ ձևաչափի մեջ։ Սա գիտեինք ի սկզբանե, սակայն այս ամենը հավաստեց Սերժ Սարգսյանը։

Ըստ Սերժ Սարգսյանի. «Խոսքը պետք է գնա մի մարդու, մի անհատի մասին, ով անցած ճանապարհ ունի, ունի ճանաչում և՛ երկրի ներսում, և՛ դրսում, կարող է պատշաճ մակարդակով, ըստ արժանվույն ներկայացնել Հայաստանն արտերկրում, այսինքն՝ կատարել իր ներկայացուցչական ֆունկցիաները և՛ երկրի ներսում, և՛ երկրից դուրս: Ապագա նախագահը, Սերժ Սարգսյանի պատկերացմամբ, պետք է տիրապետի օտար լեզուների, ունենա լայն կապեր թե՛ սփյուռքում, թե՛ Հայաստանում, վայելի հեղինակություն և որ ամենակարևորն է՝ անկողմնակալ մարդ լինի, ով երբեք քաղաքականությամբ չի զբաղվել և կուսակցության անդամ չի եղել» - ասված է նախագահականի հաղորդագրությունում:

Այսինքն ստացվում է, որ նախագահը մեզանում այլևս քաղաքական պաշտոն չէ։ Ավելի, Սարգսյանն այս առումով շատ անկեղծ է։ Բազմաթիվ հասարակություններում և պետություններում, Սահմանադրությունը և օրենքները ծառայում են ժողովրդի շահերին։ Հայաստանում, դրանք ծառայում են իշխող կուսակցության, տվյալ դեպքում՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանի շահերին։ Ներկայացնելով իր տեսլականն ապագա նախագահի անձի նկատմամբ, Սարգսյանն ասում է, որ իրեն պետք է մեկը, որը խելոք կաշխատի իր մոտ։

Ստացվում է այնպես, որ Սարգսյանը դառնում է նախագահի գործատու։ Տեղի է ունենում այն, ինչ կանխատեսում էինք։ Այստեղ ևս, Սարգսյանն անկեղծ է։ Նա չի ուզում նմանվել ԵԱՏՄ իր մյուս՝ դիկտատոր գործընկերներին և ևս մեկ ժամկետով դառնալ նախագահ։ Սակայն մյուս կողմից, խանդով վերաբերվելով այդ պաշտոնին, մինչև վերջ փորձում է արժեզրկել այն։ Թերևս սա կստացվի նրա մոտ, քանի որ բոլոր քաղաքական հաշվարկներն այդ մասին են խոսում։
