ՀՀԿ ԳՄ նիստից հետո, ինչպես սովորաբար լինում է, լրագրողների հետ հանդիպել է Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը: «Կառավարության ձեւավորման, վարչապետի, առաջին փոխվարչապետի նշանակման հարց մինչ օրս մենք չենք քննարկել».-պնդել է նա:

Հասկանալի է, որ վարչապետը Սերժ Սարգսյանն է: Դա արդեն գիտենք բոլորս: Սակայն ավելի առարկայական են դառնում մամուլում շրջանառվող այն խոսակցությունները, որ փոխվարչապետի պաշտոնն առաջարկվել է Կարեն Կարապետյանին, սակայն վերջինս չի շտապում պատասխանել:

Մեծ հաշվով Կարեն Կարապետյանի թիմն այս խոսակցությունները չհերքեց: Իհարկե, Կարապետյանը քաղաքականապես կարճամիտ չէր ու չէր կարող չհասկանալ, որ իրեն պարզապես կօգտագործեն ընտրություններից առաջ՝ լարվածությունը թուլացնելու համար, իսկ հետո արդեն, դափնիները կհասնեն Սերժ Սարգսյանին: Թերևս նա այդ քայլին գնացել է ստիպված: Իսկ հիմա արդեն, եթե պար ես մտել, պետք է խաղաս:

Սակայն հետաքրքիր էր Շարմազանովի խոսքի մյուս մասը, որը նա միշտ կրկնում է:

Շարմազանովն ասել է. «Կառավարության ձեւավորվելու իրավունքը ՀՀ քաղաքացիները ընտրությունների միջոցով տվել են ՀՀԿ-ին ու ՀՅԴ-ին, այսօրվա կոալիցիոն ուժերն ունեն քաղաքական լեգիտիմություն, որ ապրիլից նոր կառավարություն ձեւավորեն այնպես, ինչպես իրենք գտնում են ավելի նպատակահարմար ժողովրդի ու պետության շահերի համար»։
