ԱՄՆ կողմից պատժամիջոցների ենթակա անձանց հերթական ցանկի հրապարակումից հետո, որի կազմի մեջ մտել էին ռուսական էլիտայի գրեթե բոլոր ներկայացուցիչները, այդ երկրում իրական վհուկաորս է սկսվել: Ընդհանրապես Ռուսաստանի վիճակը մտահոգող է: ԽՍՀՄ փլուզումից հետո, այդ երկիրն ուներ երկու ճանապարհ: Կամ գնալ ազատականության ուղով, ու կայանալ նորմալ պետություն, կամ դառնալ փակ դիկտատուրա: Իհարկե, առաջինի դեպքում կունենար որոշակի տարածքային կորուստներ՝ ազգային պետությունների ինքնորոշման տեսքով, սակայն հնարավորություն կունենար ստեղծելու համակարգ, որը հավասարաչափ և իրավաչափ կբաշխեր ազգային ռեսուրսները: Սակայն Ռուսաստանը գնաց երկրորդ ճանապարհով: 

Վերջին շրջանի բոլոր իրադարձությունները հուշում են, որ այդ երկրում կարոտել են Ստալինին և ստալինիզմին: Բացառիկ անիմաստ բարբաջանքներով հանդես եկավ Պեսկովը: Երբեմն զարմանում ես, թե ինչպես են այդ մարդուն վստահել աշխարհի ամենամեծ պետության մամլո խոսնակի հաստիքը:

Սակայն այս պատմության մեջ կա մեկ այլ՝ ավելի մառազմատիկ հերոս: Այդ հերոսը Ռուսաստանի նախագահի խորհրդական Սերգեյ Գլազևն է: Նա կոչ է արել ուշադրություն դարձնել այն անձանց վրա, ովքեր ցուցակում չեն: Ըստ Գլազևի, այդպիսիներին հարկավոր է ստուգել՝ գուցե նրանք արտասահմանցի գործակալներ են:

Այդ նույն Գլազևի տրամաբանությամբ, հնարավոր գործակալ է նաև Պուտինը: Նա էլ չկա այդ ցուցակում: Թերևս Թրամփին հաջողվել է եղբայրաբար օգնության ձեռք մեկնել ու համապատասխան շրջանակներին համոզել, որպեսզի Պուտինի անունն հանեն ցուցակից:

Բնական է որ, Ռուսաստանում վհուկաորսը կստանա լայն մասշտաբներ: Ինչպես Ստալինի ժամանակ էին մարդկանց մեղադրում հակահեղափոխական կամ ժողովրդի թշնամի լինելու մեջ, այնպես էլ հիմա, շատ հեշտությամբ կարող են հռչակել ամերիկյան գործակալ: Ի վերջո, մեկ անգամ չէ, որ նման դավադրությունների տեսությունների ականատես ենք եղել: Այն ինչ այսօր կատարվում է Ռուսաստանում, իրոք մտահոգիչ է:
