Հայկական ժամանակը գրում է, որ չնայած այս տարվա փետրվարի 21-ին ԱԺ-ում անցկացվեցին խորհրդարանական լսումներ Բարձրագույն կրթության մասին օրենքի նախագծի վերաբերյալ, որով բուհերը պետք է ապաքաղաքականացվեին՝ կառավարման խորհրդի անդամները չպետք է լինեին պետական իշխանության ներկայացուցիչներ, ամեն դեպքում նախագծից կան շեղումներ: 

 Մասնավորապես Երեւանի ավագանու ԵԼՔ խմբակցության անդամ, ԵՊՀ դասախոս Արայիկ Հարությունյանը լսումների ժամանակ հայտարարել  է, որ օրենքը հարմարեցվում է Սերժ Սարգսյանի ցանկություններին:

Օրենքի նախագծում ԵՊՀ-ի մասով նոր դրույթ է ավելացել, որում ասված է. «Երեւանի պետական համալսարանը կրթական, գիտահետազոտական եւ մշակութային ինքնավար հաստատություն է, որի կարգավիճակի եւ կառավարման առանձնահատկությունները սահմանում է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության կառավարությունը»: Սա նշանակում է կառավարության ղեկավարն է որոշելու, թե ով պետք է լինի խորհրդում եւ այլն:

Իրավիճակն իսկապես հետաքրքրական է: Փաստորեն, Սերժ Սարգսյանն ամեն գնով ոչ միայն վարչապետ է դառնում, այլև շարունակում է ղեկավարել երկրի մայր բուհը ՝ հասկանալով, թե ինչ քաղաքական ու բյուրոկրատական ռեսուրս է այդ բուհն իր ձեռքերում: Սրանից բուհը բնականաբար տուժում է ՝ ընկնում է, ոչ միայն բուհի վարկանիշն, այլև նվազում  է ուսանողների քանակը, կրթության որակը ընկնում է, բազմաթիվ մասնագետներ հեռանում են այլ ՝ ավելի կոմֆորտ միջավայրով բուհեր:
