Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ապրիլի 5-ին Հայաստանի և Երուսաղեմի Սբ. Հովհաննեսի, Հռոդոսի և Մալթայի Ինքնիշխան Մարտական Բարեխնամ Ուխտի միջև համագործակցության համաձայնագրի ստորագրման արարողությունից հետո հանդիպում է ունեցել Մալթայի Ուխտի Մեծ վարպետի տեղապահ Ֆրա Ջակոմո Դալլա Տոռե դել Տեմպիո դի Սանգուինետոյի հետ:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, հանդիպման սկզբում Հանրապետության Նախագահը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Մալթայի Մարտական Ուխտում Հայաստանի պաշտոնական պատվիրակությանը ցուցաբերվող ընդունելության համար և ջերմությամբ հիշել Մալթայի Ուխտի Մեծ Վարպետի անդրանիկ այցը Հայաստան, որը Նախագահ Սարգսյանը համարել է Հայաստանի և Մալթայի ուխտի միջև դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների պատմության մեջ նշանակալի իրադարձություն: Այն, Հանրապետության Նախագահի գնահատմամբ, նոր էջ է բացել բարեկամական ոգով զարգացող երկկողմ համագործակցության առավել խորացման և ընդլայնման համար:

Հանրապետության Նախագահն ու Մալթայի Ուխտի Մեծ վարպետի տեղապահը երկուստեք ընդգծել են, որ Հայաստանի և Մալթայի ուխտի միջև հարաբերություններն ունեն զարգացման մեծ ներուժ և վստահություն են հայտնել, որ երկխոսության նման դինամիկայի շարունակականությունը թույլ կտա ապագայում առավել արդյունավետ օգտագործել այդ ներուժը:

Հանդիպմանը զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են տարբեր ոլորտներում Հայաստանի և Մալթայի ուխտի միջև համագործակցությանը՝ բարձր գնահատելով այսօր ստորագրված համագործակցության համաձայնագիրը: 

Հանդիպման ավարտին Նախագահը գրառում է կատարել Մալթայի Ինքնիշխան Մարտական Ուխտի Պատվավոր հյուրերի գրքում.

«Ինձ համար մեծ պատիվ է հյուրընկալվել հնագույն հոգևոր Ուխտի Հռոմի Վարպետաց առանձնատանը: Երախտապարտ եմ ցուցաբերված ջերմ՝ բարեկամական ընդունելության համար:

Մեր կապերը, որ սերում են պատմությունից, լի են փոխադարձ հարգանքի ու միմյանց սատարելու բազմաթիվ դրսևորումներով։ Վստահ եմ, որ նույն ոգով մենք շարունակելու ենք առավել սերտացնել ու հարստացնել Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Մալթայի Ինքնիշխան Մարտական Ուխտի հարաբերությունները՝ ի շատ բոլորիս։

Մալթայի Ուխտի ղեկավարությանը, անդամներին և հազարավոր կամավորականներին մաղթում եմ ամենայն հաջողություն աշխարհի չորս կողմերում հավատքը պաշտպանելու և կարիքավորներին աջակցելու իրենց պատմական առաքելության մեջ»,- գրել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը:

Ի պատիվ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի և նրա գլխավորած պատվիրակության, Մալթայի Ուխտի Մեծ Վարպետի տեղապահի անունից տրվել է պաշտոնական ճաշ, որի ժամանակ Հանրապետության Նախագահը և Մալթայի Ուխտի Մեծ Վարպետի տեղապահը հանդես են եկել փոխադարձ բաժակաճառերով` անդրադարձել հայերի և Մալթայի Ուխտի պատմական առնչություններին և ձևավորված բարեկամությանը:
