Սուրբ Աթոռում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Միքայել Մինասյանը մեծ պատիվ և պատասխանատվություն է համարում Վատիկանում Գրիգոր Նարեկացու արձանի բացման արարողության մասնակցելն ու այն աշխարհին ներկայացնելը:

Միքայել Մինասյանը «Ֆեյսբուք»-ի իր էջում կատարած գրառման մեջ նշել է, որ  Վատիկանում Գրիգոր Նարեկացու արձանի բացման օրն իսկապես պատմական էր, զգացողություններն ու տպավորությունները՝ անմեկնելի:

«Օրերն ու իրադարձությունները մոռացվելու հատկություն ունեն, մի օր չենք լինի և մենք՝ մեզ հետ տանելով մեր հիշողությունները, բայց Գրիգոր Նարեկացու՝ Վատիկանի այգիներում տեղադրված արձանը հավերժ կմնա սերունդներին: Նարեկացու բրոնզաձույլ արձանը Հայաստանի մի մասնիկն է Սուրբ Աթոռում: Արձանի վրա պատկերված է աստվածային գիրքը՝ «Նարեկը»: Արձանի դիմացի մասում հրեշտակն ու նռնենին է, ետնամասում կտուցով խաղաղություն բերող աղավնին` Նարեկացու աղավնին: Հեղինակը՝ Դավիթ Երևանցին, ցանկացել է, որ Նարեկացու արձանը կամուրջ դառնա երկնքի ու երկրի միջև և փայլուն կերպով իրականացրել է գաղափարը: Արձանը բացելն ու այն աշխարհին ներկայացնելն ինձ համար մեծ պատիվ և պատասխանատվություն էր»,- գրել է դեսպանը:

Միքայել Մինասյանն անկեղծորեն հավատում է, որ Նարեկացու արձանը կդառնա աշխարհի բոլոր քրիստոնյաների սիրելի հուշակոթողը: «Ի սրտե շնորհակալ եմ բոլորին, ովքեր ֆիզիկապես ու հոգեպես մեր կողքին էին այս պատմական իրողության կայացման ընթացքում»,- եզրափակել է նա:

Սուրբ Աթոռ կատարած պաշտոնական այցի շրջանակներում Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը ապրիլի 5-ին Վատիկանում մասնակցել է «Տիեզերական եկեղեցու վարդապետ» հռչակված Աստվածաշնորհ Սուրբ Գրիգոր Նարեկացու արձանի բացման արարողությանը: Բացումը կատարել է Սուրբ Աթոռում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Միքայել Մինասյանը:  Շուրջ երկու մետր բարձրությամբ բրոնզե արձանը ձուլվել է Չեխիայում, հեղինակը Հայաստանի ժողովրդական նկարիչ, քանդակագործ Դավիթ Երևանցին է, ճարտարապետը` Միքայել Հասրաթյանը: Այս նախաձեռնությունն իրականություն է դարձել Միքայել Մինասյանի և ռուսաստանաբնակ հայտնի գործարար Արթուր Ջանիբեկյանի բարերարությամբ ու Սուրբ Աթոռում ՀՀ դեսպանության մշակույթի բաժնի պատասխանատու Վարդան Կարապետյանի կազմակերպական ջանքերի շնորհիվ: Արձանը պատրաստված է երկու օրինակից. մեկը տեղադրվեց Վատիկանում, իսկ երկրորդը կտեղադրվի համայն հայության հոգևոր կենտրոն Էջմիածնում։
