ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը շնորհավորել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին Հայաստանի վարչապետ ընտրվելու կապակցությամբ: «Շնորհավորում եմ Ձեզ ընտրվելու կապակցությամբ: Ակնկալում եմ Ձեզ հետ աշխատել մեր երկու երկրների համար փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող բազմաթիվ ոլորտներում, ներառյալ առևտրային կապերի, ժողովրդավարական ինստիտուտների և տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության ամրապնդման ուղղությամբ: Կոռուպցիայի դեմ պայքարում առաջընթացը, բոլոր կուսակցությունների ջանքերը միավորելը և ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության խաղաղ լուծումը կնպաստեն այդ ջանքերին և կապահովեն Հայաստանի պայծառ ապագան», ասվում է ուղերձում: ԱՄՆ նախագահի մակարդակով Հայաստանի ղեկավարների շնորհավորանք կարծես թե առաջին անգամ է: Ավելին, վերջին երկու տասնամյակում շնորհավորանքներ որպես այդպիսին ԱՄՆ-ից կարծես թե չեն էլ եղել, այլ միայն՝ Պետական դեպարտամենտից ուղերձներ: Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն, այսպիսով, ստացավ երկու բան, որ Հայաստանի նախորդ ղեկավարները չունեին՝ ժողովրդի աջակցությունը եւ աշխարհի առաջին գերտերության ղեկավարի շնորհավորանքը: Ընդ որում, իրավիճակը ուշագրավ է նրանով, որ Նիկոլն իշխանության եկավ ոչ թե ընտրությունների միջոցով, այլ ժողովրդական ալիքի, այսինքն՝ գործ ունենք ժողովրդի ուղիղ կամարտահայտության հետ, եւ չնայած շատերը սա համարում են օրինակարգության խնդիր, մյուս կողմից՝ Հայաստանում տեղի է ունեցել թերեւս եզակի երեւույթ, որը տեղավորվում է թե ՀՀ Սահմանադրության, թե մարդու իրավունքների միջազգային կոնվենցիաներով ձեւակերպված ժողովրդի իշխանության տրամաբանության մեջ: «Հայկական մոդելը» դեռ իր ազդեցությունն ունենալու է նոր աշխարհակարգի կառուցման վրա, եւ համաշխարհային առաջնորդները չէին կարող չարձանագրել այս հանգամանքը: Իսկ մինչ այդ Հայաստանի նոր իշխանությունը խնդիր ունի ինստիտուցիոնալացնել նոր իրավիճակը Հայաստանում եւ այն դարձնել անշրջելի: Այսպիսով, ավելորդ է նույնիսկ ասել, թե ինչ մեծ պատասխանատվություն ու առաքելություն է ստանձնում նոր իշխանությունը, միաժամանակ՝ ինչպիսի հնարավորություններ են բացվում Հայաստանի առաջ՝ թե ներքին, թե արտաքին խնդիրներում: Նախեւառաջ՝ Հայաստանի ժողովրդի իրավունքների հաստատման իմաստով:
