2007 թվականի ապրիլի 1-ին՝ ժամը 19.00-ին, ոստիկանության Կենտրոնական բաժին հիվանդանոցից հաղորդում էր ստացվել, որ թիկունքի մասում վնասվածքով բուժօգնության է տեղափոխվել մի երիտասարդ։ Նույն օրը՝ ժամը 20:40-ին, ոստիկանության Կենտրոնական բաժին է եկել Երևանի բնակիչ Արթուր Ղևոնդյանը՝ ներկայացնելով 9 մմ տրամաչափի ատրճանակ՝ լիցքավորված 6 փամփուշտով։ Ղևոնդյանը հայտնել է, որ ատրճանակը մայրաքաղաքի Թումանյան փողոցի թիվ 11Ա շենքի բակում գտել են ինքն ու հիվանդանոց տեղափոխված երիտասարդը։

Երբ վերջինիս ձեռքից փորձել է հրազենը վերցնել, կրակոց է արձակվել, ինչի հետևանքով էլ երիտասարդը վիրավորվել է։ Ոստիկանության կազմակերպված հանցավորության դեմ պայքարի գլխավոր վարչությունում հավաստի օպերատիվ տվյալներ են ստացվել, որ 2007 թվականի ապրիլի 1-ին հիվանդանոց տեղափոխված երիտասարդը վիրավորվել է ոչ թե ատրճանակից պատահաբար արձակված կրակոցի հետևանքով, այլ նրա ուղղությամբ կրակել է Երևանի բնակիչ, 34-ամյա Հայկ Ալեքսանդրի Սարգսյանը։ Նոր ի հայտ եկած հանգամանքների հիման վրա ՀՀ գլխավոր դատախազի կողմից վերացվել է 2007 թվականին հարուցված քրեական գործի կարճման որոշումը։Հարուցվել է նոր քրեական գործ՝ սպանության փորձի հատկանիշներով։

Ոստիկանության կազմակերպված հանցավորության դեմ պայքարի գլխավոր վարչության ծառայողները, ՀՀ գլխավոր դատախազության և Քննչական կոմիտեի աշխատակիցների հետ համագործակցությամբ, ձեռնարկված ծավալուն հետախուզական միջոցառումների արդյունքում Հայկ Սարգսյանին հուլիսի 4-ին հայտնաբերեցին «Զվարթնոց»mմիջազգային օդանավակայանում և բերման ենթարկեցին գլխավոր վարչություն։

Սարգսյանը պատրաստվում էր լքել Հայաստանը՝ մեկնելով Ֆրանսիա։ Ոստիկանների օպերատիվ գործողությունների արդյունքում նրա մտադրությունը չիրականացվեց։ Հայկ Սարգսյանին ոստիկանները ներկայացրել են նախաքննական մարմնին։ Մեղադրանքի առաջադրումից հետո՝ հուլիսի 11-ին, դատարանի որոշմամբ նա կալանավորվել ու տեղափոխվել է քրեակատարողական հիմնարկ։

Ոստիկանության կազմակերպված հանցավորության դեմ պայքարի գլխավոր վարչության ծառայողները օպերատիվ տեղեկություններ էին ստացել նաև, որ 2007 թվականի ապրիլի 1-ին ատրճանակով ոստիկանության Կենտրոնական բաժին ներկայացած և դեպքի վերաբերյալ իրականությանը չհամապատասխանող տեղեկություններ հայտնած Արթուր Ղևոնդյանը բնակվում է Ռուսաստանի Սոչի քաղաքում։ Տարված բացատրական աշխատանքների արդյունքում 35-ամյա Ղևոնդյանը հուլիսի 8-ին ներկայացել է ոստիկանության կազմակերպված հանցավորության դեմ պայքարի գլխավոր վարչության, ապա՝ ներկայացվել նախաքննական մարմնին։ Կատարվածի հանգամանքները քննությամբ պարզվում են։
