Ֆրանսիայի հավաքականը 20 տարի անց դարձավ Աշխարհի կրկնակի չեմպիոն

Ռուսաստանում ավարտվեց ֆուտբոլի աշխարհի առաջնությունը։ Եզրափակիչում մրցեցին Ֆրանսիայի և Խորվաթիայի հավաքականները։ Մոսկվայի «Լուժնիկի» ստադիոնում կայացած խաղում ֆրանսիացիները հաղթեցին 4։2 հաշվով։ Ֆրանսիայի հավաքականը 1998 թվականից հետո երկրորդ անգամ դարձավ աշխարհի չեմպիոն։

Հանդիպման 18-րդ րոպեին Անտուան Գրիզմանի իրացրած տուգանայինից կատարած փոխանցումից հետո սեփական դարպասը գրավեց Մարի Մանջուկիչը։ 10 րոպե անց Խորվաթիան խփեց պատասխան գնդակը։ Վիդայի փոխանցումից հետո աչքի ընկավ Իվան Պերիշիչը։ Միլանի «Ինտերի» ֆուտբոլիստը գրավեց Ուգո Լյորիսի պաշտպանած դարպասի հեռավոր անկյունը։

38-րդ րոպեին Դիդյե Դեշամի գլխավորած հավաքականը կրկին առաջ անցավ հաշվի մեջ։ Անկյունայինից կատարած փոխանցումից հետո գնդակը դիպավ Պերիշիչի ձեռքին։ Հանդիպման գլխավոր մրցավար Նեստոր Պիտանան կրկնապատկերը դիտելուց հետո նշանակեց 11 մետրանոց, որն էլ անվրեպ իրացրեց Անտուան Գրիզմանը։

Երկրորդ կեսը ավելի ակտիվ սկսեցին Զլատկո Դալիչի գլխավորած թիմի ֆուտբոլիստները, սակայն Ֆրանսիան կարողացավ հակախաղ գտնել և 59-րդ ու 65-րդ րոպեներին Պոլ Պոգբան և Կիլիան Մբապեն դարձան գոլերի հեղինակներ։

69-ին սխալվեց Ուգո Լյորիսը և Մարիո Մանջուկիչը խփեց իր թիմի երկրորդ գոլը։ Խորվաթիային ավելի անել չհաջողվեց և նրանք բավարարվեցին արծաթե մեդալներով։
