Էկվադորի իշխանություններն առաջիկայում պատրաստվում են Wikileaks կայքի հիմնադիր Ջուլիան Ասանժին հանձնել Մեծ Բրիտանիային: Այս մասին հայտնել է The Intercept ամսագիրը՝ հղում անելով Էկվադորի ԱԳՆ-ին և նախագահի գրասենյակին մոտ գտնվող աղբյուրին: 

Էկվադորի նախագահ Լենին Մորենոն ներկա պահին այցով գտնվում է Լոնդոնում, որտեղ պետք է ելույթ ունենա սահմանափակ հնարավորություն ունեցող մարդկանց մասին գագաթնաժողովում (ինքը Մորենոն տեղաշարժվում է անվասայլակով այն բանից հետո, երբ 1998-ին տուժել է կողոպուտի փորձի ժամանակ): 

Ինչպես աղբյուրը գրում է, նրա այցի իրական նպատակը բրիտանական իշխանությունների հետ հանդիպումն է, որպեսզի ավարտին հասցնի Ասանժին Մեծ Բրիտանիային հանձնելու մասին համաձայնությունը: Էկվադորը Ասաժին կարող է զրկել ապաստանից և հանձնել բրիտանական իշխանություններին հաջորդ շաբաթվա սկզբին:
