Այն սցենարը, ինչը կանխատեսել էինք մի քանի ժամ առաջ, իրականություն դարձավ շատ ավելի արագ, քան նույնիսկ կարելի էր ենթադրել։ ՀՔԾ-ն հանդես է եկել պաշտոնական հաղորդագրությամբ, որտեղ մասնավորապես ասված է․«2008 թվականի մարտի 1-ից 2-ն ընկած ժամանակահատվածում Երևան քաղաքում տեղի ունեցած իրադարձությունների վերաբերյալ ՀՀ հատուկ քննչական ծառայությունում քննվող քրեական գործով նախաքննության ընթացքում ձեռք բերված ապացույցների բավարար համակցության հիման վրա 2018 թվականի հուլիսի 26-ին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պաշտոնաթող նախագահ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանին մեղադրանք է առաջադրվել ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 300.1-ին հոդվածի 1-ին մասով այն բանի համար, որ նա այլ անձանց հետ նախնական համաձայնությամբ տապալել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության սահմանադրական կարգը: Նույն օրը միջնորդություն է ներկայացվել Երևան քաղաքի ընդհանուր իրավասության առաջին ատյանի դատարան` Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի նկատմամբ կալանավորումը որպես խափանման միջոց ընտրելու համար»:

Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանը ժամեր անց, ավելի ստույգ՝ թերևս վաղը, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, կկալանավորվի։ Սա կդառնա Երրորդ հանրապետության ամենանշանային իրադարձություններից մեկը։ Այս իրադարձությանը դեռևս պետք է կարողանանք ադապտացվել, որովհետև Երրորդ հանրապետության պատմության մեջ առաջին անգամ է քրեական հետապնդման ենթարկվում պետության նախկին ղեկավարը։

Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի դեմ քրեական հետապնդումը պայմանավորված է Մարտի 1-ի գործում առկա անհերքելի փաստերով, սակայն տեղի ունեցածը, ըստ էության, իրավա-քաղաքական գնահատական է քրեաօլիգարխիայի իշխանության արյունոտ քսանամյակին։ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի դեմ հարուցված քրեական գործը դառնալու է այն բանալին, որը թույլ կտա ոչ միայն ամբողջովին բացահայտել Մարտի 1-ի հանցագործությունը, այլ նաև բոլոր այն արյունոտ ոճիրները, որոնք գործվել են նրա անփառունակ նախագահության տաս տարիներին։ Խոսքը, առաջին հերթին, վերաբերում է Հոկտեմբերի 27-ի ոճրագործության համապարփակ բացահայտմանը, որի միջոցով Հայաստանում դրվեցին քրեաօլիգարխիկ համակարգի, ռուսական վասալության հիմքերը։
