Ոստիկանները 28 տարի առաջ կատարված սպանություն են բացահայտել:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ոստիկանության հասարակայնության հետ կապերի և լրատվության վարչությունից, 1990 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 31-ի գիշերը Գեղարդի վանքի դիմաց, ձախ սարալանջին, ոստիկանները հայտնաբերեցին անհայտ տղամարդու դի` հրազենային վնասվածքներով: Ավելի ուշ պարզվեց` մահացածը 1926 թվականին ծնված Երևանի բնակիչ Վիլեն Սարգսյանն է, որին որպես անհայտ կորած ոստիկաններն օրեր շարունակ որոնում էին:

Ոստիկանության Արտաշատի բաժնում հարուցվեց քրեական գործ: Ստեղծվեց օպերատիվ-քննչական խումբ: Սարգսյանը Ֆիզիկայի ինստիտուտի գիտաշխատող էր: Հարազատները ոչ ոքի չէին կասկածում, վստահեցնում էին, որ թշնամիներ չուներ: Սպանության բացահայտման ուղղությամբ տարաբնույթ միջոցառումներ ձեռնարկվեցին, ստուգվեցին հետախուզական միջոցառումների պլանով նախատեսված բոլոր վարկածները: Սակայն հանցագործությունը կատարած անձին հայտնաբերել չհաջողվեց: Թվում էր ժամանակի հետ մոռացության կմատնվի ամեն ինչ, բայց նման արարքները չեն մոռացվում և դեպքից մոտ երեք տասնամյակ անց սպանությունը բացահայտվեց: 

Ոստիկանության ՔՀԳ վարչությունում տեղեկություններ ստացվեցին, որ հանցագործությունը հնարավոր է կատարած լինի Գառնի գյուղի բնակիչ Մուշեղ Օհանյանը: Օգոստոսի 1-ին ոստիկանության Կոտայքի բաժնի ծառայողների հետ համատեղ ձեռնարկված միջոցառումների արդյունքում, Մուշեղ Օհանյանը Գառնի գյուղի իր առանձնատնից, սպանություն կատարելու կասկածանքով, բերման ենթարկվեց ոստիկանության Կոտայքի բաժին:

Ըստ նրա` կատարվածը դժբախտ պատահականություն էր: Որսի ժամանակ թփուտների մեջ չէր նկատել տղամարդուն, շփոթել էր որսի հետ ու կրակել...
