ԱՄՆ Կալիֆոռնիա նահանգի Գլենդելի պատվիրակությունը սեպտեմբերի 10-ին Գյումրիում էր: Պատվիրակությանը, որը գլխավորում էր Գլենդելի քաղաքապետ Զարեհ Սինանյանը նախ ընդունեց Շիրակի մարզպետ Կարեն Սարուխանյանն, ապա Գյումրու քաղաքապետ Սամվել Բալասանյանը: Հայաստան պատվիրակության այցի նպատակն է ամրապնդել Կալիֆոռնիա-Հայաստան կապերը, հատկապես՝ տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների ոլորտում:

Զարեհ Սինանյանն ու նրա հետ Հայաստան ժամանած սենատորները, պատվիրակության մյուս անդամները շնորհակալություն հայտնեցին ջերմ ընդունելության համար: Թեև նրանցից շատերի համար սա առաջին այցը չէր Գյումրի, սակայն ՏՏ ոլորտի առումով՝ ճանաչողական էր: «Մենք Շիրակի մարզ ենք այցելել, քանի որ գիտենք, որ Գյումրին ունի տեխնոլոգիական կենտրոն, կփորձենք ձեզ հետ քննարկել, ինչպես նաև հանդիպումներ ունենալ ոլորտի ներկայացուցիչների հետ` հասկանալու հնարավոր համագործակցության ուղղությունները»,- նշեց Գլենդելի քաղաքապետ Զարեհ Սինանյանը:

Շիրակի մարզպետն ու Գյումրու քաղաքապետը պատրաստակամություն հայտնեցին համագործակցել բոլոր բնագավառներում և վստահեցրին՝ ամեն ինչ անելու են Շիրակի մարզ նոր ներդրողներ բելելու և ավելի գործնական ծրագրեր իրականացնելու համար:Քաղաքապետ Սամվել Բալասանյանը ողջունեց հյուրերի այցը Գյումրի, խոսեց Գյումրու և Գլենդելի միջև առկա կապերի մասին: Քաղաքապետն իր խոսքում նշեց, որ թեև Գյումրին և Գլենդելը քույր քաղաքներ են, բայց այս կապն ամրապնդելու բոլոր նախադրյալները կան:

«Պետք է մեր կապերն ավելի խորացնենք, գործնական քայլերի գնանք և ստեղծենք այնպիսի մի մթնոլորտ, որ կապերն ավելի ամրանան, հատկապես որ Գլենդելը հայաշատ քաղաք է, և մեծ թվով գյումրեցիներ են այնտեղ ապրում: Կապերի ամրապնդումը Կալիֆոռնիայի հետ շատ կարևոր է Հայաստանի ու նաև Գյումրու համար»,- նշեց Սամվել Բալասանյանը: Քաղաքապետը հյուրերին ներկայացրեց այս պահին Գյումրիում իրականացվող ծրագրերը՝ փողոցաշինական, պատմական կենտրոնի վերականգնման ուղղությամբ, ապա խոսեց առաջիկա հնարավոր ծրագրերի մասին: Հյուրերն իրենց հերթին շնորհակալություն հայտնեցին ընդունելության համար, փոխանցեցին Հայաստանից ստացած իրենց տպավորությունները: Այցի շրջանակներում պատվիրակությունը եղավ նաև Գյումրու Տեխնոլոգիական կենտրոնում՝ ծանոթանալով քաղաքի ՏՏ ներուժին:
