Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը ֆրանսիական Le Monde պարբերականին տված հարցազրույցում անդրադարձել է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորմանը: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, պատասխանելով լրագրողի հարցին, թե ինչպե՞ս է պատրաստվում հաղթահարել դիվանագիտական փակուղին, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հարցով առկա է Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև, վարչապետն ասել է.

«Դիտարկենք այն իրականությունը, որը կա: Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները ցանկանում են տպավորություն ստեղծել, թե Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը պետք է Ադրբեջանի տարածքում լինի, բայց նրանք ցանկանում են հասնել այդ նպատակին` առանց Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի իշխանությունների հետ երկխոսելո՞ւ: Ես չեմ հասկանում` ո՞րն է այստեղ տրամաբանությունը` ասել, թե Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը պետք է լինի նույն պետության կազմում, ինչ Ադրբեջանը, բայց չցանկանալ նրա հետ խոսել այդ մասին: Ադրբեջանը ինքը իրեն հակասում է:  Եթե Բաքուն ցանկանում է ապրել նույն պետության կազմում, ինչ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը,  պետք է հետաքրքրված լինի հնարավորինս շատ բանակցել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հետ, կամ Բաքուն ցանկանում է ձեռք բերել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը` առանց այնտեղ ապրող մարդկանց:

Դա կնշանակի, որ Ադրբեջանը ցանկանում է արտաքսել կամ բնաջնջել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի բնակիչներին: Արդյո՞ք Բաքուն Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում պատրաստվում է հայերի դեմ նոր ցեղասպանության: Եթե դա այդպես է, ուրեմն Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի իշխանություններն իրավասու են պնդել, որ հայերը չեն կարող ապրել նույն պետության տարածքում, ինչ Ադրբեջանը, որովհետև Ադրբեջանի կազմում լինելը սպառնալիք է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ցանկացած քաղաքացու համար»:
