ՆԱՏՕ-ն պատրաստ է ընդունել Մակեդոնիային դաշինքի կազմում իր նոր անվամբ՝ դարձնելով երկիրը Հյուսիսանտլանտյան դաշինքի 30-րդ անդամը, այս մասին հայտարարել է ՆԱՏՕ-ին առընթեր ԱՄՆ-ի մշտական ներկայացուցիչ Քեյ Բեյլի Հաթչիսոնը՝ մեկնաբանելով Մակեդոնիայի անվան փոփոխության մասին երկրում անցկացված հանրաքվեն, գրում է РИА Новости գործակալությունը:

«Մենք գոհ ենք, որ հանրաքվեի մասնակիցների 90 տոկոսը կողմ են արտահայտվել դրան: Մենք համարում ենք դա հրաշալի ազդանշան: Մենք պատրաստ ենք ընդունել Մակեդոնիան մեր շարքեր Հյուսիսային Մակեդոնիա անվան տակ: Այժմ որոշումը Սկոպյեի խորհրդարանինն է: Եթե Մակեդոնիայի բնակիչները ցանկանում են լինել ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ՝ մենք պատրաստ ենք օգնել նրանց այդ հարցում», - ասել է Հաթչիսոնը հեռախոսային ճեպազրույցի ընթացքում:

Օրերս Մակեդոնիայում անցկացվել է երկրի անվանափոխման մասին խորհրդատվական հանրաքվեն, սակայն ավելի ուշ չկայացած ճանաչվել: 

Երկրի Պետական ընտրական հանձնաժողովի հրապարակած վերջին տվյալների համաձայն՝ ընտրատեղամասերի փակվելուց ընդամենը կես ժամ առաջ քվեարկության էր ներկայացել գրանցված ընտրողների միայն 34.74%-ը, ինչը նշանակում է, որ հանրաքվեն չկայացած կարող է ճանաչվել:

Հունաստանի կառավարությունը հունիսի 17-ին պայմանագիր է ստորագրել Մակեդոնիայի Հանրապետության հետ, որը կարգավորում է նախկին հարավսլավական հանրապետության անվանման շուրջ ավելի քան 25 տարի ընթացող վեճը:

Հունաստանը պահանջում էր փոխել այն հունական Մակեդոնիա շրջանի անվան առնչությամբ շփոթմունք չլինելու համար:

Ենթադրվում է, որ անվանափոխությունից հետո նախկին հարավսլավական հանրապետությունը դառնալու է Հյուսիսային Մակեդոնիայի Հանրապետություն: Պայմանագիրը Սկոպյեի համար ճանապարհ է բացում դեպի ՆԱՏՕ և Եվրամիություն:
