Արման Հարոյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.

Քիչ չեն երկրները, որոնց հետ Հայաստանն ունի բարեկամական հարաբերություններ, բայց նրանց մեջ Ուկրաինան ունի իր ուրույն տեղը։ Այս փաստը հաշվի առնելով, ու տեղ տալով հայ-ուկրաինական հարաբերություններին, հոկտեմբերի 13-ին Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը նախաձեռնեց Տարաս Շևչենկոյի հուշարձանի բացումը։ Նրա անունն են կրում Ուկրաինայի ԳԱ գրականության ինստիտուտը և Կիևի համալսարանը։ Տարաս Շևչենկոն եղել է 19-երորդ դարի խոշորագույն արվեստագետներից մեկը։ Աշխարհի տարբեր քաղաքներում տեղադրված են Շևչենկոյի հուշարձաններ։ Իսկ այսօրվանից Երևանի սրտում՝ Օղակաձև այգում, բացվեց մեծն ուկրաինացի արվեստագետի հուշարձանը։

Հուշարձանի բացման պատիվը տրված էր ԲՀԿ առաջնորդ Գագիկ Ծառուկյանին և Հայաստանում Ուկրաինայի Արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Պյոտր Լիտվինին։ Վերջինս իր խոսքում նշեց, որ Շևչենկոն ուկրաինացիների համար նույն արժեքն ունի, ինչ որ Նարեկացին հայերի համար։ Ու միայն այս խոսքերը բավական եղան հասկանալու համար, որ Ծառուկյանի այս քայլը դրական ազդեցություն է ունեցել հայ-ուկրաինական հարաբերությունների վրա։

Ինչպես միշտ, Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը ջանք չի խնայում մեր երկիրը միջազգային հարթակներում ներկայացնելու, ու դաշնակիցներ ձեռք բերելու հարցում։ 
Վերջին տվյալներով Հայաստանում ապրում են 1000-ից ավելի էթնիկ ուկրաինացիներ, ովքեր Ծառուկյանի նման մարդկանց շնորհիվ, այսուհետ համոզված կլինեն, որ մեր երկրում գնահատվում են այլ ազգերի մշակույթները։
