ԱՄՆ նախագահի Ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Ջոն Բոլթոնը Հայաստանը որակել է որպես տարածաշրջանում կարևոր բարեկամ: Բոլթոնը Հայաստան այցի մասին գրառում է կատարել «Թվիթեր»-ի իր էջում:
 
«Երեկ ես հիանալի այցելություն ունեցա Հայաստան՝ կարևոր բարեկամ երկիր տարածաշրջանում: Ես բավականություն ստացա արդյունավետ խոսակցությունից ՀՀ վարչապետի պաշտոնակատարի և իր ազգային անվտանգության թիմի հետ»,- գրել է Բոլթոնը:
 
ԱՄՆ նախագահի Ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Ջոն Բոլթոնը Հայաստան այցի շրջանակում հանդիպում է ունեցել ՀՀ վարչապետի պաշտոնակատար Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հետ: Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը և Ջոն Բոլթոնը ընդգծել են բարձր մակարդակի փոխայցելություններն ավելի հաճախակի դարձնելու անհրաժեշտությունը: Հանդիպումից հետո Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը նշել էր, որ բանակցություններն անցել են խիստ դրական մթնոլորտում:
 
Բոլթոնը Հայաստանում հանդիպում է ունեցել նաև ՀՀ ԱԽ քարտուղարի, պաշտպանության և ԱԳ նախարարի պաշտոնակատարների հետ: Բոլթոնը հայաստանցի լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նշել էր, որ հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունները Միացյալ Նահանգների համար առաջնահերթ են ու կարևոր: Հանդիպումների ընթացքում կարևորվել են տնտեսական ոլորտում երկու երկրների միջև հարաբերությունների աշխուժությունը, Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ-ի ուղղակի ներդրումների ավելացումը: Բոլթոնն անդրադարձել է նաև Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության խնդրին՝ նշելով, որ պատրաստ են իրենց աջակցությունն ունենալ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման հարցում, քանզի այս կարգավորումը բխում է ոչ միայն Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի, այլև ԱՄՆ-ի շահերից:
