2018 թվականի ընթացքում Հայաստանում հայտնաբերվել է ՄԻԱՎ 429 դեպք։ Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է ՁԻԱՀ կանխարգելման հանրապետական կենտրոնը։

2019 թվականի հունվարի 31-ի տվյալներով՝ Հայաստանում 1988-ից հանրապետության քաղաքացիների շրջանում հայտնաբերվել է ՄԻԱՎ 3367 դեպք, որոնցից 429-ը՝ անցած տարվա ընթացքում։ ՄԻԱՎ 69 տոկոսը հայտնաբերվել է արական սեռի ներկայացուցիչների մոտ, 1,7 տոկոսի կամ 58-ի դեպքում վարակակիր են եղել երեխաները։ ՄԻԱՎ-ով վարակվածների 51 տոկոսը բաժին է ընկնում 25-39 տարիքային խմբին։

70 տոկոսի պարագայում ՄԻԱՎ-ը փոխանցվել է հետերոսեքսուալ ճանապարհով, 20 տոկոսի դեպքում՝ ներերակային ձեւով թմրանյութեր ընդունելու պատճառով, 4 տոկոսի դեպքում՝ հոմոսեքսուալ ճանապարհով, 1,5 տոկոսի դեպքում՝ մորից երեխային, 0,1 տոկոսի դեպքում՝ արյան միջոցով։

ՄԻԱՎ-ով վարակված 1707 մարդու մոտ, այդ թվում 33 երեխա եւ 435 կին, ախտորոշվել է ՁԻԱՀ։ Սկսած 1988-ից՝ Հայաստանում մահացել է 777 ՄԻԱՎ-ՁԻԱՀ-ով հիվանդ, այդ թվում՝ 149 կին եւ 11 երեխա։
