Մարդու իրավունքների եվրոպական դատարանը քննում է հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանը հատած ու Ադրբեջանում դատապարտված Կարեն Ղազարյանի գործը:

«Հայաստանի իշխանություններն ամեն ինչ անում են, օգտագործելով միջազգային ազդեցության լծակները ու մեխանիզմները, Կարեն Ղազարյանին Հայաստան վերադարձնելու համար»,- ասաց Զեյնալյանը:

Նախարարը հայտնեց, որ այս պահի դրությամբ`  Կարեն Ղազարյանի վերաբերյալ «Կարմիր խաչը» որևէ մտահոգիչ տեղեկություն չի հաղորդել:

Միջազգային իրավունքի մասնագետ, իրավաբան Արա Ղազարյանը հայտնել էր, որ ադրբեջանական դատարանի կողմից դատապարտված Կարեն Ղազարյանի գործը ներկայացվել է ՄԻԵԴ, որի շրջանակում, բացի հիմնական գանգատից, ներկայացվել է նաև նոր փաթեթ, որը վերաբերում է նրա դատավարությանը:

2018 թվականի հուլիսին ադրբեջանական կողմը տեղեկատվություն էր տարածել, թե Ղազախի շրջանում հայկական կողմից դիվերսիոն ներթափանցման փորձ են կասեցրել ու գերեվարել «հայ հետախույզ» 1984 թ. ծնված Կարեն Ղազարյանին: ՀՀ ոստիկանությունը հայտնել էր, որ լուրը բացարձակապես չի համապատասխանում իրականությանն ու ապատեղեկատվություն է: «Կարեն Ղազարյանը Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Տավուշի մարզի սահմանամերձ Բերդավան գյուղի բնակիչ է, որևէ առնչություն չունի զինվորական ծառայության հետ, ունի առողջական խնդիրներ և 2013 թվականից հաշվառված է համապատասխան բուժհաստատությունում»,- պարզաբանել էր նաև ոստիկանությունը: Դեպքի հետ կապված 2018 թ. հուլիսին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարությունը պաշտոնապես հայտարարել էր, որ Տավուշի Բերդավան գյուղի բնակիչ 1984 թ. ծնված Կարեն Ղազարյանը չի ծառայում և երբեք չի ծառայել ՀՀ ԶՈւ-ում։  ԿԽՄԿ երևանյան գրասենյակը զգուշացված էր Կարեն Ղազարյանի առողջական խնդիրների վերաբերյալ: Այն ժամանակ ԱԳՆ մամուլի խոսնակ Տիգրան Բալայանն էլ նշել էր, որ հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանը հատած ու հակառակորդի մոտ հայտնված Կարեն Ղազարյանը որևէ առնչություն չունի բանակի հետ և հոգեկան խնդիրներ ունի: Կարեն Ղազարյանն Ադրբեջանում դատապարտվել է  20 տարվա ազատազրկման: Դատական նիստը տեղի է ունեցել փետրվարի 27-ին: Ադրբեջանում ՀՀ քաղաքացու նկատմամբ մեղադրանքներ են առաջադրվել այդ երկրի Քրեական օրենսգրքի մի քանի հոդվածներով՝ սպանություն, ահաբեկչություն, հասարակական կարգի խախտում և այլն:
