Այսօր Շուշիի ազատագրման օրն է (տեսանյութ)

27 տարի առաջ այս օրը՝ մայիսի 8-ին, Արցախի Պաշտպանության բանակը եւ կամավորական ջոկատներն ազատագրեցին Շուշին։ Շուշիի ազատագրման ռազմական գործողությունն անցկացվել է 1992թ. մայիսի 8-9-ին:

Գործողությունն իրականացվել է 4 ուղղություններով՝ միաժամանակյա հարձակումներով՝ մայիսի լույս 8-ի գիշերը ժամը 2.30-ին, Քիրսի ռազմական դիրքերը գրավելուց և Լաչին-Շուշի ճանապարհը հսկողության տակ վերցնելուց հետո՝ ՄՄ-21 ռեակտիվ մարտկոցի համազարկով:

Մինչ այդ որոշվել էր Շուշին ազատագրել երեք ուղղությամբ հարձակվելով, սակայն, դա չէր ստացվել։ Գլխավոր՝ 4-րդ ուղղության ներմուծումը օպերատիվ պլան, հնարավոր դարձրեց քաղաքի ազատագրումը։ Այդ ուղղության ղեկավարը Սամվել Բաբայանն էր։

Շուշիի ազատագրման օպերատիվ պլանը մշակվել է Ա. Տեր-Թադևոսյանի գլխավորությամբ, ինչին զինվորականները ձեռնամուխ են եղել Խոջալուն ազատագրելուց անմիջապես հետո:

Շուշիի ազատագրմամբ ոչնչացվեցին ադրբեջանական բոլոր կրակային կետերը, որոնցից ռմբակոծվում էր Ստեփանակերտը։

Այն տևել է 26 ժամ և մայիսի 9-ին արդեն Շուշին ազատագրված էր:

Շուշիի ազատագրման մարտերում հայկական կողմն ունեցել է 57 զոհ, թշնամին՝ 250-300 սպանված, 600-700 վիրավոր, 13 գերի:
