ԱՄՆ Ազգային օդերեւութաբանական ծառայությունը Հյուսիսային բեւեռի շրջանում գրանցել է անոմալ ամպրոպ, որի ժամանակ կայծակը ոչ հատկանշական կլիմայական պայմաններում հարվածել է 48 անգամ, փոխանցում է RG-ն: 

Արտասովոր երեւույթի մասին պատմել է National Geographic-ը: Այն տեղի է ունեցել անցած հանգստյան օրերին: Գիտնականները կայծակի տասնյակ հարվածներ են գրանցել Հյուսիսային բեւեռից մոտ 480 կմ հեռավորությամբ:

Դա այնքան արտառոց էր, որ Ազգային օդերեւութաբանական ծառայությունը հատուկ մամուլի հաղորդագրություն է հրապարակել: Նշված է, որ գրանցվել է հյուսիսային ամպրոպներից մեկը, որոնք հիշում են միայն Ալյասկայի հնաբնակները:

Օդերեւութաբանների համար երեւույթն իսկական հանելուկ է դարձել: Բանն այն է, որ կայծակի հարվածի համար պահանջվում են մթնոլորտային անկայունության պայմաններ:

Դա հնարավոր է, երբ սառը եւ չոր օդը տեղակայվում է ավելի տաք ու խոնավ օդի շերտի վրա: Հյուսիսային լայնություններում այս երեւույթը չի դիտվում, քանի որ այնտեղ չի հայտնվում տաք եւ խոնավ «ստորին» օդ:

Չնայած դրան, կայծակի 48 հարվածը գրանցել է Vaisala GLD360 ցանցը: Այն օգտագործում է GPS տեխնոլոգիան: Դրա ռադիոընդունիչները կարողանում են հզոր փայլատակումները որսալ մինչեւ 10 հազար կմ հեռավորությամբ, ներառյալ Արկտիկայի ամենահեռավոր շրջանները:

Գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ անոմալ հյուսիսային ամպրոպը կարող է լինել կլիմայի փոփոխության տագնապահարույց նշան: Հնարավոր է՝ իր դերն է խաղացել Արկտիկայի անսովոր տաք եղանակը, ինչպես նաեւ սառույցների հալչելու արագացող գործընթացը:
