ԱՄՆ-ում մահացել է Նոբելյան մրցանակի դափնեկիր Քերի Մուլիսը

Ամերիկացի կենսաքիմիկոս Քերի Մուլիսը, որը քիմիայի Նոբելյան մրցանակ է ստացել ԴՆԹ անալիզի պարզ եւ էժան մեթոդի հայտնագործության համար, 74 տարեկանում մահացել է, հայտնում է New York Times-ը:

Նրա կինը՝ Նենսի Կոսգրոուվ Մուլիսը հայտնել է, որ գիտնականը մահացել է օգոստոսի 7-ին Կալիֆոռնիայի Նյուփորթ Բիչ քաղաքի իր տանը: Մահվան պատճառը թոքաբորբից հետո բարդությունների պատճառով առաջացած սրտային եւ շնչառական անբավարարությունն էր:

1993 թվականին Մուլիսը Նոբելյան մրցանակը ստացել է բրիտանացի գիտնական Մայք Սմիթի հետ:

Հետազոտողը հայտնի էր ոչ սովորական հայացքներով եւ ապրելու ոճով: Ատենախոսությունը պաշտպանելուց հետո նա ժամանակավորապես լքել է գիտությունը՝ գրողի գործունեությամբ զբաղվելու համար:

Երբ 1995 թվականին սպանության մեջ մեղադրվող ֆուտբոլիստ Օ. Ջեյ Սիմփսոնի փաստաբանները գիտնականին հրավիրել են դատավարության ժամանակ հանդես գալ որպես փորձագետ, մեղադրող կողմը հասկացրել է, որ նրա ցուցմունքները հարցականի տակ կդնի՝ կապված Մուլիսի կողմից ալկոհոլ եւ թմրանյութեր գործածելու հայտնի փաստի հետ: Գիտնականն այդպես էլ դատարանում չի հայտնվել:

1998 թվականին հրատարակվել է Մուլիսի՝ «Բանականության դաշտում մերկ պարողը» ինքնակենսագրական գիրքը, որում նա, մասնավորապես, հերքել է ՄԻԱՎ-ի եւ ՁԻԱՀ-ի միջեւ կապը:
