Հայ-ամերիկյան գործընկերությունն օր օրի ամրապնդվում է, Վաշինգտոնում Հայաստանի դեսպանատանը կայացած Անկախության օրվա տոնակատարության ընթացքում հայտարարեց է Պետքարտուղարույթան Կովկասյան բաժնի ղեկավար Շերիլ Ֆերնանդեսը, հաղորդում է «Ամերիկայի ձայնը»: 

«Անկախության առաջին իսկ օրվանից Միացյալ Նահանգներն աջակցել է Հայաստանին իրականացնելու քաղաքացիների պահանջը. Կոռուպցիայի դեմ պայքար, թափանցիկ կառավարում, օրենքի գերակայություն եւ մարդու իրավունքների ու հիմնարար ազատությունների նկատմամբ հարգանք»,-նշել է նա:

Ֆերնանդեսի խոսքով, Պետքարտուղարությունում ուրախ են Միացյալ Նահանգներ կատարած Հայաստանի վարչապետի հաջողակ այցի կապակցությամբ եւ հույս ունեն, որ դա ապագայում սպասվող բազմաթիվ այցերից մեկն էր միայն: Այսօր Հայաստանը գրանցում է նաեւ տնտեսական զարգացման տպավորիչ արդյունքներ, դառնալով տարածաշրջանում տեխնոլոգիական կենտրոն, նշում է Շերիլ Ֆերնանդեսը:

«Թավշյա հեղափոխությունը», որ Հայաստանը դարձրեց ժողովրդավարության հաղթանակի աշխարհում գլխավոր օրինակներից մեկը, նաեւ հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների ամրապնդման նոր հեռանկարներ է բացել, իր ելույթում նշեց ԱՄՆ-ում Հայաստանի դեսպան Վարուժան Ներսեսյանը.

«Մեր անկախացումից ի վեր, Միացյալ Նահանգները եղել է Հայաստանի ամենակարեւոր բարեկամներից մեկը: Ամերիկյան աջակցությունը կարեւորագույն դեր է խաղացել պետական հաստատությունների կայացման, մարտահրավերներին դիմակայելու գործում: Այդ աջակցության շնորհիվ նաեւ Հայաստանին հաջողվեց կարեւորագույն տնտեսական եւ քաղաքական բարեփոխումներ իրականացնել»:

Դեսպանատանը ներկա դիվանագետներն ու Միացյալ Նահանգների հայ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչները կրկին անգամ ընդգծեցին, որ հայ-ամերիկյան բարեկամությունը հիմնված է ընդհանուր արժեքների ամուր հիմքի վրա: Այստեղ ներկա Մասաչուսեթս նահանգի Միդլսեքս շրջանի շերիֆ Փիթեր Քութուջյանը հատկապես կարեւորեց Հայաստանում «Թավշյա հեղափոխությանը» հետեւած բարեփոխումները.

«Մենք եւս մեկ կարեւորագույն քայլ կատարեցինք, որը նոր ներուժ հաղորդեց մեր զարգացմանը, ներուժ, որը կարող է մեզ հզոր Հայաստան դարձնել»:
