ենք իսկապես շատ ծանր երկխոսություն ենք ունեցել ինչպես իրանցի, այնպես էլ ամերիկացի մեր գործընկերների հետ: Այս մասին BBC լրատվական ծառայության Hard Talk հաղորդմանը տված հարցազրույցում նշել է հայաստանի ԱԳ նախարար Զոհրաբ Մնացականյանը՝ անդրադառնալով դիտարկմանը, որ ամերիկացիներն այժմ պահանջում են, որ Հայաստանը պատժամիջոցներ կիրառի Իրանի դեմ, իսկ ՀՀ վարչապետը ասել է, որ դա չի անի, եւ այդ պայմաններում ո՞րն է Հայաստանի դիրքորոշումը այս հարցում:

«Դուք միանգամայն ճիշտ եք, դա շատ բարդ է: Շատ բարդ, երբ ձեր գործընկերները միմյանց հետ խնդիրներն ունեն: Մենք ունենք ռազմավարական նշանակության հարեւանություն՝ Վրաստանը եւ Իրանը: Իրանը դարպաս է, Իրանը շատ կարեւոր գործընկեր է, մի երկիր, որի հետ մենք կիսում ենք հարյուրամյակների հարաբերություններ, մի երկիր, որտեղ մենք ունենք հայկական ներկայություն, հայկական ժառանգություն, խոսքը մի ժողովուրդի մասին է, որը մեզ շատ լավ հայտնի է: Եվ մենք, իհարկե, հավատարիմ ենք այս հարաբերություններին: Միեւնույն ժամանակ մենք շատ բաց ենք եղել մեր իրանական գործընկերների հետ՝ հստակեցնելու, թե ինչն է հնարավոր, ինչը՝ ոչ:

Ասացեք, եթե մենք հայտարարենք, որ գնում ենք միայն մեկ ուղղությամբ, արդյոք դա անմիջապես աշխատելու է, թե մենք սպասելու ենք հերթում տասը-տասնհինգ տարի: Մենք մեզ չենք կարող անգամ թույլ տալ 10-15 րոպեի անվտանգային վակուում»:
