Ավելի քան 11 հազար գիտնական ստորագրել է հռչակագիր այն մասին, որ Երկիրը «բախվում է կլիմայական արտակարգ իրավիճակի հետ»։ Գիտնականները մռայլ պատկեր են ուրվագծում, թե ինչ վիճակում է մեր մոլորակը, տեղեկացնում է CNBC-ն։

«Կլիմայական ճգնաժամը», հեղինակների կարծիքով, «սկսվել է եւ ավելի արագ է ընթանում, քան սպասում էր գիտնականների մեծ մասը»։ Նրանք կարծում են, որ սա «ավելի լուրջ ճգնաժամ է, քան սպասվում էր, եւ սպառնում է բնական էկոհամակարգերին եւ մարդկության ճակատագրին»։

«Չնայած  գլոբալ խոշոր բանակցությունների 40 տարիներին՝ մենք շարունակել ենք սովորականի պես բիզնես վարել եւ չենք կարողացել հաղթահարել այդ ճգնաժամը»,- ասել է հոդվածի համահեղինակ Ուիլյամ Ջ. Ռիփլը։
