Վրաստանը եւ Ուկրաինան ՆԱՏՕ-ի կողմից աջակցության միջոցառումների փաթեթ կստանան, որի մասին որոշումը կընդունվի ապրիլի 2-ին Դաշինքի արտաքին գործերի նախարարների մասնակցությամբ հեռավար համաժողովի ժամանակ: Այս մասին չորեքշաբթի կայացած տեսաճեպազրույցի ժամանակ հայտարարել է ՆԱՏՕ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպան Քեյ Բեյլի Հաթչիսոնը, փոխանցում է« Ամերիկայի ձայնը»:

«Մենք օգնում ենք մեր գործընկերներին` Վրաստանին եւ Ուկրաինային, եւ նրանց փաթեթ ենք (աջակցության միջոցառումների. ԱՁ) տրամադրում, որը կքննարկվի վաղը ՆԱՏՕ-ի արտգործնախարարների համաժողովին: Վստահ եմ, որ նախարարները կհաստատեն այս փաթեթը, որը շարունակում է Վրաստանին եւ Ուկրաինային մեր աջակցության եւ օգնության ամրապնդման գործընթացը»,- ասել է ՆԱՏՕ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանը:

Ավելի վաղ Թբիլիսիին եւ Կիեւին աջակցության առաջարկի մասին մամուլի ասուլիսին հայտարարել էր ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգը ասաց. «Ես ակնկալում եմ, որ նախարարները կհաստատեն Վրաստանի եւ Ուկրաինայի համար նոր աջակցության փաթեթը, մենք կքննարկենք մեր գործընկերությունը, այդ թվում` Սեւծովյան տարածաշրջանում անցկացվող զորավարժությունները, ինչը ռազմավարական նշանակություն ունի ՆԱՏՕ-ի համար»: Ստոլտենբերգի խոսքով` միջոցառումների այս փաթեթը կամրապնդի «այդ երկրներին ցուցաբերվոց քաղաքական եւ գործնական աջակցությունը ՆԱՏՕ-ի կողմից»:

Ամերիկացի դիվանագետի խոսքով` Միացյալ Նահանգները հակված են, որպեսզի «այդ երկրներն ապագայում դառնան ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամներ»: «Մենք եղել ենք Վրաստանում եւ Ուկրաինայում եւ կցանկանայինք, որպեսզի այն բարեփոխումները, որոնք նրանք իրականացնում են, առաջ տարվեին եւ հաղթեին Ռուսաստանի ապատեղեկատվությանը եւ Վրաստանի եւ Ուկրաինայի նկատմամբ իրականացվող սահմանային բռնի փոփոխություններին»,- ասել է Քեյ Բեյլի Հաթչիսոնը:
