Հոնկոնգի գիտնականները եզրակացության են եկել, որ COVID-19-ը կարող է երեք անգամ ավելի շատ հարուցիչներ արտադրել, քան SARS թոքաբորբի համաճարակի պատճառ դարձած վիրուսի շտամը: Միևնույն ժամանակ` նոր տեսակի կորոնավիրուսն ավելի լավ է «թաքնվում»: Այս մասին հայտնում է South China Morning Post-ը:

Գիտնականներն ուսումնասիրել են վեց վարակված հիվանդների թոքային հյուսվածքները: Արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ COVID-19 վիրուսը 48 ժամում 3.2 անգամ ավելի շատ հարուցիչներ է արտադրել, քան SARS վիրուսը: Բացի այդ, կորոնավիրուսի հայտնաբերման գործընթացը բարդանում է, քանի որ այն առավել դանդաղ իմունային և բորբոքային ռեակցիաներ են տեղի ունենում, և ախտանշաններն ավելի ուշ են նկատվում:
