Կարմիր խաչի միջազգային կոմիտեն աշխատանք է տանում ադրբեջանական գերության մեջ սպանված Կարեն Պետրոսյանի դին վերադարձնելու ուղղությամբ: Այս մասին ՀՀ արտակարգ իրավիճակների նախարարություն կատարած այցի ընթացքում լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցում հայտարարեց ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սերյան Օհանյանը: «Կարմիր խաչի միջազգային կոմիտեն աշխատում է այդ ուղղությամբ: Արդյունքներ կլինեն' կլինի կամ փոխանակում, կամ վերադարձ»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` ասաց նախարարը:

Ադրբեջանի պաշտպանության նախարարությունը հայտնել է, որ օգոստոսի 7-ին Թովուզի Աղբուլաղ գյուղում գերի ընկած Տավուշի շրջանի Չինարի գյուղի բնակիչ Կարեն Պետրոսյանն օգոստոսի 8-ի առավոտյան «հանկարծակի անհայտ պատճառով մահացել է»: Ըստ հաղորդագրության' նախնական տվյալներով' Պետրոսյանի մահվան պատճառը «սիրտ-թոքային խիստ անբավարարությունն է, խիստ միոկարդիալ անբավարարությու նը»: Փորձագիտական շրջանակները վկայում են, որ Կարեն Պետրոսյանին սպանել են գերության մեջ, իսկ ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարարությա մամուլի քարտուղար Տիգրան Բալայանն «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրեց, ՀՀ քաղաքացու գերեվարման, նրա հրապարակային նվաստացման և սպանության մասին ապացույցները և համապատասխան գնահատականները պատշաճ կերպով ներկայացվում են միջազգային կազմակերպություններին և գոր ծընկեր երկրներին:

Ադրբեջանում գերության մեջ գտնվելու ընթացքում Տավուշի մարզի Չինարի գյուղի բնակիչ Կարեն Պետրոսյանի մահվան դեպքի առթիվ հարուցվել է քրեական գործ, կատարվում է նախաքննություն։
