Ինչո՞ւ դոլարը կանաչ գույն ունի

Ի սկզբանե, երբ ԱՄՆ-ը, որն այն ժամանակ բաժանված էր Հյուսիսային և Հարավային նահագների, սկսեց փող տպել, փողը շագանակագույն էր՝ կարմիր և սև գրվածքներով։ Որպեսզի այն հնարավոր չլինի կեղծել, փողը տպվում էր մետաքսե նյութից թղթի վրա, հետո ավելացվում էին ձկան մարմնի տարբեր բաղադրիչներ։ Սա պրոցեսը ոչ միայն բարդացնում էր, այլ նաև ստիպում էր Կոնգրեսին ավելի շատ ծախսել փողի տպման վրա։ Արդյունքում որոշ ժամանակ ԱՄՆ-ում թղթադրամների տպումը դադարեցվեց։ 

Կոնգրեսը պատճառաբանում էր, որ մարդիկ ավելի հարմարավետությամբ օգտագործում են մետաղադրամները, քան թղթադրամները։ Սակայն միայն մետաղադրամների օգտագործումը չէր կարող երկար տևել։ Տարիներ անց ԱՄՆ Կառավարությունը ստիպված էր նորից վերադառնալ տպագրման պրոցեսին։ 

Այս անգամ, սակայն, փողի գույնը փոփոխություն ապրեց։ Քանի որ այդ ժամանակ ԱՄՆ-ում հարմար էր կանաչ ներկի օգտագործումը, որն ավելի դժվար էր կեղծել, ու պաշարները, պարզվեց, ավելի շատ էին երկրում, առանց խորհրդակցության նոր դոլարները դարձան կանաչ գույնի։ 

Այսինքն՝ հիմնական պատճառը դարձավ ուղղակի փողի տպագրման ընկերությունում այդ պահին կանաչ ներկի մեծ չափաքանակը, որը պետք էր ինչ-որ տեղ օգտագործել։ Կանաչ էին ոչ միայն Հարավային, այլ նաև Հյուսիսային նահանգների թղթադրամների գույները։ Արդյունքում, ժամանակի ընթացքում, երբ արդեն խորհրդակցություն հրավիրվեց, որպեսզի որոշվի, թե ինչ գույն պետք է ունենան ԱՄՆ հիմնական թղթադրամները, պարզվեց, որ գործող թղթադրամի գույնը և՛ հարմար է օգտագործման համար, և՛ չափազանց դժվար է նրան կեղծելը։
