Սուրեն Սուրենյանցն իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրում է.

«Ինչ-որ պահերի ինձ մոտ տպավորություն է ստեղծվում, որ նախկին իշխանությունն ու ներկա իշխանությունը պայմանավորված են իրար հետ՝ հենց մեր ռեյտինգը մի քիչ ընկնի, դուք մի քիչ խոսացեք, ասեք՝ մենք հեսա գալիս ենք, դուք պետք է հրաժարական տաք ժողովուրդն էլ արագ կոնսոլիդանում է այս կողմի վրա»,- ասում է Էդմոն Մարուքյանը ու այս հարցում նրա հետ դժվար է վիճելը:
Իհարկե, առանձին թեմա է, թե ինչու նույն «Լուսավոր Հայաստանը» կամ մյուս ուժերը, որոնք իրենց դուրս են դնում «սևերի» ու «սպիտակների» պարզունակ, արհեստական հակադրությունից, անցած երկու և կես տարվար ընթացքում չեն կարողացել ստեղծել այնպիսի որակ, որը կբացառեր քաղաքական սորտավորման նման գռեհկաբանությունը։
Ըստ էության՝ երկար ժամանակ ես էլ եմ մատածում, որ հին համակարգի ու հեղափոխության թիմի միջև գոյություն ունեն ստվերային պայմանավորվածություններ, որոնց ակունքը թերևս գնում է մինչև հեղափոխության դրամատիկ օրերը ու առնվազն մինչև մեր օրերն ազդում է քաղաքական գործընթացի որակի վրա։
Հների ու նորերի կոնսենսուսի առարկան, մեծ հաշվով, այն է, որ անփոփոխ մնա համակարգը, որը նախկինների մոտ ռեստավրացիայի հույսեր է ծնում, իսկ ներկաներին թույլ է տալիս վայելել լիարժեք իշխանության պտուղները։ Այդ համակարգն ինքնին ավտորիտար է՝ հիմնված մեկ մարդու բացարձակ ու սանձարձակ իշխանության վրա ու բնավ կարևոր չէ, որ երեկ այդ մարդը Սերժ Սարգսյանն էր, այսօր՝ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը։
Երկուսին էլ այդ համարկարգը դուր է գալիս, որովհետև ռացիոնալ մտածողության փոխարեն՝ նրանք կարողանում են իշխել վարչական ռեսուրսի անսահմանափակ կրրառմամբ, նունիսկ՝ չարաշահմամբ։ Ահա, որ կետում են կոնսենսուսի եկել ներկաներն ու նախկինները․ նրանց համար ավտորիտար համակարգը հոգեհարազատ է ու հեչ պատահական չէ, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն անկեղծորեն կարծում է, որ իր այլընտրանքն ամբաստանյալի կարգավիճակ ունեցող Սերժ Սարգսյանն է կամ կալանավորի կարգավիճակում հայտնված Գագիկ Խաչատրյանը։ Սա մտածողություն է, որը թեկադրված է այն համակարգով, որը երեկ ծառայում էր Սարգսյանին, այսօր՝ Փաշինյանին։
Երբ ստեղծում էի «Դեմոկրատական այլընտրանք» կուսակցությունը, մտածում էի հենց այնպիսի համակարգի ձևավորման մասին, որում տեղ չունեն հին համակարգի լոգիակայով ապրող «սևերն» ու «սպիտակները», այլ խոսքով՝ հին համակարգին կառչած նախկիններն ու ներկաները։ Ու ես ու իմ թիմը կհասնենք այդ նպատակին, որովհետև Հայաստանի հասարակությունն, ի տարբերություն նախկինների ու ներկաների, քաղաքական «դալտոնիզմով» չի տառապում։ Մեզ արդյունավետ երկիր է պետք, որտեղ տեղ չունեն նախկինների ռևանշիզմն ու ներկաների չտեսությունը։
