Միացյալ Նահանգների կառավարությունը՝ ԱՄՆ Պետդեպարտամենտի և ԱՄՆ Միջազգային Զարգացման Գործակալության (ԱՄՆ ՄԶԳ) միջոցով լրացուցիչ 1 միլիոն 436 հազար դոլար է հատկացրել Հայաստանին՝ COVID-19-ի դեմ պայքարի համար։

Ընդհանուր առմամբ, ԱՄՆ կառավարությունը Հայաստանին մոտ 4 միլիոն դոլարի հրատապ օգնություն է տրամադրել 2020 թվականին: Միացյալ Նահանգները տրամադրում է կենսական անհրաժեշտության  աջակցություն՝ գործակցելով ՀՀ կառավարության, միջազգային մարդասիրական գործընկերների և այլ շահագրգիռ կողմերի հետ՝ բացահայտելու ներդրումի կարիք ունեցող ոլորտներն ըստ առաջնահերթության։

ԱՄՆ ՄԶԳ-ն այս նոր՝ 1 միլիոն ԱՄՆ դոլարի օժանդակությամբ կաջակցի գյուղատնտեսության և զբոսաշրջության ոլորտներին տնտեսապես վերականգնվել  համավարակից և հարմարեցնել կարիքները ետկորոնավիրուսային աշխարհի իրողություններին:

Պետդեպարտամենտի կողմից տրամադրվող հավելյալ $436,000 դոլարը կհատկացվի այն խոցելի միգրանտների կարիքների բավարարմանը, որոնք համավարակի պատճառով չեն կարողանում վերադառնալ իրենց մշտական բնակավայր։ Այս օժանդակության շնորհիվ նրանք կունենան կացարան, մթերք, ինչպես նաև հնարավորություն՝ օգտվելու բժշկական և սոցիալական ծառայություններից։

Բացի COVID-19 համավարակի դեմ պայքարի համար տրամադրված վերոնշյալ աջակցությունը՝ անցած 20 տարիների ընթացքում Միացյալ Նահանգները Հայաստանում ներդրել է ավելի քան 1,57 միլիարդ դոլար, որից մոտ 106 միլիոն դոլարն՝ առողջապահության ոլորտում:

Տասնամյակներ շարունակ Միացյալ Նահանգները եղել է առողջապահության ոլորտի երկկողմանի օժանդակության  աշխարհի խոշորագույն տրամադրողը: 2009 թվականից ի վեր, ամերիկացի հարկ վճարողների առատաձեռն ֆինանսավորմամբ, տրամադրվել է ավելի քան 100 միլիարդ դոլարի  համաշխարհային առողջապահական օժանդակություն և գրեթե 70 միլիարդ դոլարի մարդասիրական օգնություն:

Քանի որ աշխարհի որևէ վայրում առկա վարակիչ հիվանդության սպառնալիքը կարող է սպառնալիք դառնալ ամենուրեք՝ Միացյալ Նահանգները կոչ է անում այլ դոնորներին ևս իրենց ներդրումն ունենալ COVID-19-ի դեմ տարվող համաշխարհային պայքարում։
