Պատերազմի ամենասկզբում գտնվում էի Արցախում, ամենաահավոր տպավորությունը թողնում էին ԱԹՍ-ները։ Իրենք արդեն օգտագործում էին այն տեխնոլոգիաները, որոնցից մենք պետք է պաշտպանվեինք, բայց պաշտպանված չէինք, որովհետև հիմարություն էինք արել զենք գնելիս, չէինք պատրաստվել պատերազմին։ Այս մասին Գյումրիում քաղաքացիների հետ հանդիպմանը հայտարարեց Հայրենիքի փրկության շարժման վարչապետի թեկնածու Վազգեն Մանուկյանը։

Նրա խոսքով՝ պատերազմից մի քանի օր անց զինվորական ղեկավարությունը եկավ այն եզրակացության, որ պետք է ամեն ինչ անել՝ պատերազմը կանգնեցնելու համար և գնալ բանակցությունների։

«Ոչ մի ձևով պատերազմը չկանգնեցվեց։ Եթե այդ ժամանակ պատերազմը կանգնեցվեր, մենք մի քանի հազար զոհ չէինք ունենա, և տարածքների զգալի մասը մեր ձեռքում կլիներ։ Դա չարվեց։ Դա քաղաքականությու՞ն է, թե՞ անխելքություն։ Դա կա՛մ հիմարություն է, կա՛մ պետական մտածողություն չունենալ, կա՛մ դավաճանություն։ Ընտրեք, որը ուզում եք։ Այդպիսի մարդը կարո՞ղ է լինել պետության ղեկավար»,-հայտարարեց Մանուկյանը։

Նա նշեց, որ պատերազմից օրեր անց այն կանգնեցնելու կոչ են արել նաև Արցախի նախկին նախագահները, միավորվել ու նույն կոչն են արել ՀՀ երեք նախկին նախագահները, սակայն Փաշինյանն այդ դեպքում ևս ոչինչ չի արել։

Նրա խոսքով՝ պայմանագրի կնքումից հետո էլ դավաճանությունը շարունակվել է, քանի որ ըստ հայտարարության՝ հանձնվող տարածքներից բացի զորքը պետք է կանգներ այն տեղում, որտեղ կանգնած էր, իսկ հայկական զորքը Զանգելանում և Կուբաթլուում տասնյակ կիլոմետր առաջ է եղել, սակայն Փաշինյանը հրամայել է, որ զորքը նահանջի, դրա համար էլ այժմ խնդիրներ կան Սյունիքի սահմաններում։

Ըստ Մանուկյանի՝ երբ Փաշինյանը գնացել էր բանակցությունների, պետք է պայման դներ՝ մինչև գերիների հարց չլուծվի, ուրիշ հարց չպետք է քննարկվի, հակառակ դեպքում դուռը «շրխկացներ», դուրս գար․ «Նիկոլը կարո՞ղ է նման բան անել․ վախեցած, պարտված, ստորացված մարդը կարո՞ղ է համարձակ քայլ անել միջազգային ասպարեզում․ ոչ մի դեպքում»,-ասաց Մանուկյանը։
