Հանրային խորհդի նախկին նախագահ Վազգեն Մանուկյանը, ով վերջին շրջանում բավականին ակտիվացել է և սկսել է իրեն ոչ հատուկ ոճով խրոխտ ելույթներ ունենալ, մատ թափ տալ հասարակության վրա, մարդկանց բոմժ անվանել, իր կարիերայի վերջին տասը տարիներին, բոլորի աչքի առջև՝ լուռ, համեստ ու հնազանդ ծառայում էր նախկին ռեժիմին: Իսկ դրանից առաջ, երբեմնի հայտնի ըննդիմադիր գործիչը այնքան էր մեկուսացել հասարակությունից, որ, նույնիսկ, շատերը մոռացել էին նրա գոյության մասին:

Նման անցյալով այս գործիչը, չգիտես ինչու, հանկարծ, ակտիվացել է ու սկսել է աջ ու ձախ մարդկանց պիտակավորել, այն դեպքում, երբ անգամ իր ընդդիմադիր եղած տարիների ամենաթունդ ելույթների ժամանակ իրեն դժվար թե թույլ տար նման բառապաշար օգտագործել:

Հիմա, երբ կարծես ապրում ենք ծուռ հայելիների ժամանակաշրջանում, և այս խառնաշփոթում այդքան էլ հասկանալի չէ թե՝ ո՞վ, ո՞ւմ դեմ, ի՞նչ իրավունքով է բողոքում, տեղին է հարցը, թե «Հայրենիքի փրկության շարժում» նախաձեռնության շրջանակներում ակտիվացած Մանուկյանը ինչո՞ւ էր երկար տարիներ լուռ ու հնազանդ ծվարել իր սենյակում և կոռուպցիայի մեջ մինչև կոկորդը խրված երկիրը կործանումից փրկելու որևէ քայլ չէր անում: Տեղին է նաև հարցը, թե նույն ինքը՝ Մանուկյանը իր քաղաքական կենսագրության ընթացքում քանի՞ անգամ է փորձել պայքարել համակարգված կոռուպցիայի, թալանի և այլ արատավոր երևույթների դեմ, որ հիմա որոշել է հետ գալ ու մարդկանց պիտակավորել, որ երկիրը ո՞ւմից փրկի, իրենի՞ց, նախկի՞ն, թե՞ ներկա իշխանություններից:

Այն, որ երկիրը փրկության կարիք ունի՝ միանշանակ է, բայց Մանուկյանը միանշանակ չի կարողանալու այդ փրկօղակը լինել: Նման դեպքերում, ինչպես դասականն է ասում՝ ավելի լավ կլինի, որ առաջին հերթին նա ինքն իրեն փրկի, իսկ հասարակությունն իր ճանապարհը անպայման կգտնի:
