Ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական ուժերի կողմից վարչապետի թեկնածու առաջադրված Վազգեն Մանուկյանը շարունակում է շոշափել հասարակության տրամադրությունները, քանի որ ՀՀ երկրորդ նախագահ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի՝ մեծ քաղաքականություն վերադառնալու մասին հայտարարությունից հետո, նրա քաղաքականության մեջ մնալու իմաստը շատերը հարցականի տակ դրեցին: Այդուհանդերձ նա շարունակում է փորձել թեկուզ հարթակային տրամադրությունները թեժ պահելու համար սուր ելույթներ ունենալ, մինչև այլ հանձնարարական ստանա: Ի դեպ, նա լինելով երկարամյա քաղաքական գործիչ լավ է պատկերացնում, որ եթե որևէ մեկին ինչ-որ դեր է տրվում, ապա դրանից հենց այնպես հրաժարվելը կարող է շատ թանկ նստել այդ գործչի վարկանիշի վրա:

Մանուկյանի՝ որպես քաղաքական ֆիգուր հարթակում մնալու իմաստը մեծ հաշվով զրոյացվեց, երբ ՀՀ երկրորդ նախագահ Ռ. Քոչարյանը հայտարարեց մեծ քաղաքականություն վերադառնալու մասին: Գուցե դա էր պատճառը, որ ավելի ուշ հայտարարված հանրահավաքի օրը տեղափոխվեց: Ի դեպ, Մանուկյանը փորձում է հասարակությանը ներկայանալ նույն ոճով ու բառապաշարով, ցույց տալու համար, որ ոչ վաղ անցյալում ոչ թե նրան թելադրում էին, այլ դա հենց իր բառերն ու մոտեցումն էր:

Բայց, անզեն աչքով էլ տեսանելի է, որ նախկին ԱԺՄ նախագահը առանձնապես ասելիք չունի ո՛չ հասարակությանը, ո՛չ էլ յուրայիններին, քանի որ ի սկզբանե նա չընդունվեց հասարակության կողմից, ինչն էլ հիասթափեցրեց նրան առաջին դեմք կարգողներին: Թե որը կլինի Մանուկյանի հաջորդ քայլը, պարզ կդառնա առաջիկայում, բայց որ նա կամաց-կամաց պետք է տուն գնա՝ միանշանակ է: Հիմա հարթակը սպասում է ՀՀ երկրորդ նախագահ Ռ. Քոչարյանին, բայց, կարծես այս հարցը ևս դեռևս շարունակում է քննարկումների թեմա մնալ: Մեկ բան ակնհայտ է, որ Քոչարյանը վաղուց է տուն ուղարկել Մանուկյանին, բայց ԱԺՄ կուսակցության նախկին նախագահին այդ որոշումը այնքան էլ դուր չի գալիս:
