ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Արևելագիտության ինստիտուտի տնօրեն, թուրքագետ Ռուբեն Սաֆրաստյանն անդրադառնալով ԱԳ նախարարի նախօրեին ԱԺ-ում կատարած հայտարարությանը, թե Թուրքիան այլևս որևէ պատճառ չունի  փակելու Հայաստանի հետ սահմանը կարծում է, որ այդպիսի լավատեսության համար առանձնապես հիմքեր չկան: Ավելին՝ Թուրքիան, երբ 1991 թվականի դեկտեմբերին ճանաչել է Հայաստանի անկախությունը, բայց հարաբերություններ չի հաստատել, դա հիմնավորելով, որ կան խնդիրներ, որոնք պետք է պարզաբանվեն հետագայում:

«Ժամանակի ընթացքում պարզ դարձավ, որ այդ խնդիրները երեքն են: Թուրքիան Հայաստանի առջև դնում է 3 պահանջ՝ Հայաստանը պետք է հրաժարվի Արցախին օժանդակելուց, պետք է հրաժարվի Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման քաղաքականությունից և պետք է հայտարարի, որ ինքը հավատարիմ է Կարսի պայմանագրին, ինչը նշանակում է, որ Թուրքիայից տարածքային խնդիրներ չկան: Բայց պետք է հիշել, որ Թուրքիան տասնյակ տարիների ընթացքում այս նախապայմանները դարձրել է ճնշման միջոց: Նման գործելաոճը միջազգային հարաբերություններում շատ հստակ անվանում ունի, կոչվում է հարկադրման քաղաքականություն: Այսինքն՝ Թուրքիան օգտվելով Հայաստանի աշխարհագրական դիրքերից, այն առանձնահատկությունից, որ մենք չունենք ելք դեպի ծով, որ մեր 4 հարևաններից երկուսի հետ մեր սահմանները փակ են, ստիպում է, որ Հայաստանը փոխի իր քաղաքականությունը այդ երեք կարևոր խնդիրներում: Եվ այս պայմաններում Հայաստանի ԱԳ նախարարը լավատեսորեն հայտարարում է, որ Թուրքիայի հետ հարաբերությունները կարող են կարգավորվե՞լ: Արդյո՞ք Թուրքիան կհրաժարվի Հայաստանի վրա ճնշում գործադրելուց, իսկ Հայաստանը հրաժարվի ցեղասպանության ճանաչման քաղաքականությունից: Ես համոզված եմ, որ՝ ոչ: Ուստի, ես կարծում եմ, որ ԱԳ նախարարի լավատեսության համար հիմքեր չկան»,- Orer.am-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց Ռ. Սաֆրաստյանը:

Խոսելով այն մասին, որ թուրքերն ու ադրբեջանցիները ռուս խաղաղապահների միջոցով պահանջել են, որ Արցախի Մարտունի քաղաքում տեղադրված Նժդեհի արձանը հանվի, և հայկական կողմը տեղի է տվել այդ պահանջին և որոշել, որ այն տեղադրվի պատմության թանգարանի դիմաց, նշեց, որ ինքը ծանոթ է այդ միջադեպին, բայց կարծում է, որ չի կարելի թույլ տալ, որ թուրքերի կամքը մեզ համար օրենք դառնա:

«Մենք չպետք է համաձայնենք նման պահանջների հետ և պետք է ամեն ինչ անենք նրանց հասկացնելու համար, որ իրենց պահանջները անցնում ե բոլոր սահմանները»,- ասաց Ռ. Սաֆրաստյանը:
