ԱԻՆ սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության տարածքային ծառայություն ՊՈԱԿ-ի պետի ժամանակավոր պաշտոնակատար Սոս Մարգարյանն անդրադառնալով գրանցված երկրաշարժին, նշեց  որ այն Երևանում զգացվել է բավականին ուժեղ, գրեթե նույն չափով, ինչպիսին Սպիտակի երկրաշարժի ժամանակ զգացվել էր Երևանում:

«Փետրվարի 13-ին գրանցված երկրաշարժը գրեթե նույն ուժգնությունն ուներ, ինչ մոտ մեկ շաբաթ առաջ գրանցված երկրաշարժը: Դրանք համարվում են միջին ուժգնությամբ երկրաշաժեր, թեև բնակչության շրջանում բավականին ժամանակ պահպանվեցին խուճապային տրամադրությունները»,- նշեց Ս.Մարգարյանը:

Նրա խոսքով 1992-ին Մարտունիում ավելի բարձր ցուցանիշներով՝ 5 մագնիտուդ ուժգնությամբ երկրաշարժ է գրացնվել, իսկ Սպիտակի երկրաշարժի ուժգնությունը կազմել է 6,9 մագնիտուդ:

«Երկրաշարժից հետո մոտ 80 հետցնցում է գրանցվել, որոնց 99 %-ը թույլ է եղել և բնակչությունը չի զգացել: Իհարկե, հնարավոր է, որ հետցնումները այնպիսի ուժգնությամբ լինեն, որ զգացվի, բայց դրանք միանշանակ ավելի թույլ կլինեն 13-ի ցնցումից: Տվյալներն ամեն վայրկյան թրմացվում են, այնպես որ իրավիճակը գտնվում է վերահսկողության տալ»,- նշեց Ս. Մարգարյանը:

Նա նաև նշեց, որ առաջին երկրաշարժից հետո, մինչ երկրորդ երկրաշարժը ծառայության կողմից հայտարարել են, որ հնարավոր է կրկին երկրաշարժ լինի, որը կարող է միջին ուժգնության լինել:

«Մենք տեղեկացրել էինք ազգաբնակչությանը, որ ուժեղ երկրաշարժի հավանականությունը փոքր է, բայց միջին ուժգնության երկարաշարժ կարող է լինել: Պետք է նշեմ որ, սովորաբար ուժեղ երկրաշարժերն են լինում կանխատեսելի, որի համար բարդագույն գիտական վերլուծություններ են իրականացվում: Ուստի հնարավոր չէ երկրաշարժի պահը հստակ կանխատեսել, իսկ երևույթի մասին, բնական է նախապես հնարավոր է լինում իմանալ»,- նշեց Ս. Մարգարյանը:
