Կա անքննելի ճշմարտություն. ցանկացած արտաքին քաղաքականություն՝ ներքին քաղաքականության շարունակությունն է։ Դա ոսկե կանոն է, և, որքան էլ տարօրինակ է, այդ կանոնը տեղին է անգամ Հայաստանի դեպքում։ Այդ փաստը ոչ միայն ոգևորիչ չէ, այլ խիստ մտահոգիչ է և բացատրում է այն աղետալի վիճակը, որում հիմա գտնվում է Հայաստանը։

Բոլորս գիտենք, որ շուրջ երեքուկես տարի Հայաստանում ներքին քաղաքականության հիմնական բնորոշիչը պոպուլիզմն է՝ բառի ամենալայն դրսևորումներով։ Ամենօրյա ռեժիմով տեսնում ենք, որ ներքին քաղաքականության շարժիչ ուժը կեղծիքն է, սուտը, մատենագրությունն ու ճամբարափոխությունը, մանր խորամանկությունը, անպատասխանատվությունը և այլն։ Բոլոր այդ որակները մենք ամեն օր տեսնում ու լսում ենք իշխանական պատգամավորների ելույթներում ու իշխանության տարբեր ներկայացուցիչների խոսույթում։ Ընդհանուր գծերով սա է հայկական քաղաքականության պատկերն ու մեխանիզմը, որն ամբողջանում է արժեքների ու սկզբունքների լիակատար բացակայությամբ, խիստ մակերեսայնությամբ ու իրավիճակային լուծումներով։

Անհեռատեսների իշխանությունը, գրեթե նույն բովանդակությունը տեղափոխել է նաև արտաքին քաղաքականություն։ Սա նշանակում է, որ կեղծիքն ու սուտը, մանիպուլյացիան ու անպատասխանատվությունը ՀՀ-ի  անունից ու Հայաստանի դրոշի ներքո արտահայտվում է նաև միջազգային հարաբերություններում։

Սրանից բխում է հետևյալը. քանզի համաշխարհային քաղաքականությունն այդուհանդերձ տարբերվում է հայկական պառլամենտից ու կուսակցական խառնարաններից, պոպուլիստական դիվանագիտություն վարող Հայաստանին լավագույն դեպքում լուրջ չեն վերաբերվում, իսկ ավելի հաճախ ուղղակի արհամարհում են։

Միանշանակ է, որ Հայաստանն այս իրավիճակում է հայտնվել նաև այն պատճառով, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին թվացել է, թե համաշխարհային քաղաքականության գայլերին կարող է մոլորեցնել այնպես, ինչպես իշխանական կեղծ քարոզչության հաճախորդներին։ Նիկոլին թվում է, թե «նախկինների» ու «թալանչիների» մասին հայտնի հեքիաթներին՝ միջազգային հարթակներում, նույնպես, ականջալուր կլինեն և կուտը կուտեն։ Եթե երկրի ներսում պոպուլիզմը չարիք է, որը կարող է այդուհանդերձ հաղթահարվել քաղաքական գործընթացներով, ապա պոպուլիստական արտաքին քաղաքականությունը բազմապատիկ ավելի վտանգավոր չարիք է, որովհետև հետևանքները կարող են լինել անդառնալի ու անշրջելի։

Փաստն այն է, որ պոպուլիստ ղեկավարների միջոցով աշխարհում լուրջ քաղաքականությամբ զբաղվողները պոպուլիստի ներկայացրած երկրից ստանում են այն, ինչը հնարավոր չէր լինի ստանալ որևէ ադեկվատ ղեկավարի պարագային։ Պոպուլիստի համար դա մեծ հաշվով հոգս չէ, քանի որ պոպուլիստի դարդը ոչ թե պետությունն է, այլ իշխանությունը։

Ասվածից հետո խոսենք ավելի դաժան իրողության մասին. այսօր ունենք մի իրավիճակ, երբ այսպիսի որակներով արտաքին քաղաքականությամբ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը գնում է Թուրքիայի հետ հարաբերությունների և Ադրբեջանի հետ խաղաղության գործընթացի հաստատման։ Վտանգավոր է, սարսափելի աստիճանի վտանգավոր։
