Հետևելով միջազգային գեոպոլիտիկ զարգացումներին՝ պարզ է դառնում, որ Ռուսաստան-Արևմուտք «անվտանգային» լայն բանակցությունը առնվազն հրապարակային հռետորաբանության մակարդակում անցնում է ապարդյուն, կողմերը հայտարարում են միմյանց պահանջները չընդունելու մասին: Ինչպես  հայտնի է, Ռուսաստանը պահանջում է ՆԱՏՕ-ից երաշխիք, որ Ուկրաինան ու Վրաստանը երբեք չեն լինի դաշինքի անդամ, ինչպես նաև պահանջում, որ դաշինքը սերտ ենթակառուցվածքային հարաբերություն և ռազմական ներկայություն չունենա հետխորհրդային երկրների հետ, նաև հետ քաշի զինուժը այն արևելաեվրոպական երկրներից, որոնք դաշինքի կազմում չեն եղել մինչև 1997 թվականը:

Միաժամանակ ԱՄՆ-ը հայտարարում է, որ դրանք անընդունելի պահանջներ են: Այդուամենայնիվ, արդյո՞ք Վաշինգտոնն ու Մոսկվան արդեն տևական ժամանակ, ընդհուպ ամիսներ ինտենսիվ բանակցում են անընդունելիության շուրջ, թե՞ այդ բանակցությունն ունի որոշակի արդյունք, ինչը սակայն գերադասվում է չբարձրաձայնել, քանի որ դրա ծավալն ու ամբողջականությունը դեռևս հաստատուն չէ: Միանշանակ բարդ է ասել, սակայն ուշադրության է արժանի այն, որ Վաշինգտոնն ու Մոսկվան բավականին ինտենսիվ բանակցում են թե՛ մինչև անգամ նախագահների բարձր մակարդակով, թե՛ դիվանագիտական պատվիրակությունների: Հազիվ թե «ոչնչի» հեռանկարով Վաշինգտոնից Մոսկվա գործուղվեր Վիկտորիա Նուլանդը: Միթե՞ պարզ չէ, որ գրեթե անիրատեսական է պատկերացնել ամերիկա-ռուսական բանակցության արդյունք, որից հետո կողմերը դուրս են գալիս և հայտարարում, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ն համաձայնել է չընդլայնվել դեպի Արևելք, ընդունել է ՌԴ պահանջները, այդ թվում Ուկրաինայի և Վրաստանի մասով:

Եկեք մի պահ ենթադրենք, որ Վաշինգտոնն ընդունում է ՌԴ պայմանները: Իսկ ի՞նչ է «հասնում անել» Ռուսաստանից: Ընդամենը հետ կանգնել Ուկրաինա ներխուժելու մտքի՞ց կամ սպառնալիքի՞ց, բայց չէ՞ որ գործ ունենք հիմնավորապես անհավասար կշիռների հետ, և հազիվ թե ռուսական դիվանագիտությունը չի պատկերացնում այդ անհավասարությունն ու ըստ այդմ դրա անընդունելիությունը: Հետևաբար, դրանով թերևս ծածկվում է մեկ այլ բան, ինչը քննարկվում է գործնականում:

Այնպիսի տպավորություն է, որ Պուտինն ԱՄՆ հետ քննարկում է իր հեռանալու պայմանը. հասկանալի է, որ խոսքը 2024 թվականին ժամկետը լրանալուց հետո: Խնդիրն այն չէ, որ Պուտինը ուզում է հեռանալ կամ չի ուզում մնալ, այլ այն, որ Պուտինը չունի մնալու ներքին ռեսուրս, միաժամանակ չունի նաև իր հեռանալը կազմակերպելու ռեսուրս: Եվ դա թերևս լավ է պատկերացնում Վաշինգտոնը` փորձելով որսալ պահն ու առաջարկելով ՌԴ նախագահին ապահովել հեռանալը կազմակերպելու ռեսուրս, այսպես ասած բավականին լավ ժառանգություն թողնելու հնարավորություն՝ այդ թվում արտաքին քաղաքական հաջողություններ ապահովելով նրա համար, սակայն հեռանալու բավականին կոշտ «երաշխիքների» դիմաց:
