Ընդդիմադիր «Հայաստան» եւ «Պատիվ ունեմ» դաշինքներում այս պահի դրությամբ որոշում ունեն՝ ոչ միայն ՀՀ նախագահի թեկնածու չառաջադրել, այլեւ չմասնակցել նախագահի ընտրության հարցի քննարկմանը, որպեսզի ինչպես դաշինքների համատեղ հայտարարությանն են հղում անում, «որեւէ կերպ» չլեգիտիմացնեն նախագահի ընտրությունը։ Իսկ ՔՊ թեկնածու Վահագն Խաչատուրյանի ընտրությունը, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, կկայանա մարտի սկզբին՝ մարտի 1-4-ն ընկած հերթական նիստերի օրերին։ Որքան էլ տարակուսելի է, բայց Սահմանադրությամբ նախատեսված «անաչառ» նախագահը մինչեւ այս պահը ընդդիմադիր դաշինքների հետ հանդիպելու առաջարկ կամ պատրաստակամություն չի հայտնել։

Թեպետ առաջին փուլով ընտրվելու համար թեկնածուին առնվազն 81 պատգամավորի քվե է հարկավոր։ Այսինքն, առաջին փուլում իրենց թեկնածուին անցկացնելու համար իշխանական խմբակցությունն ընդդիմության ձայների կարիքն ունի, բայց քանի որ նախագահի ընտրության երկրորդ ու երրորդ փուլեր կան, որտեղ իշխանական խմբակցությունն անհրաժեշտ ձայները միայնակ կարող է ապահովել, ուստի ընդդիմությանը չեն էլ փորձում ներգրավել։ Հանրային համերաշխության խնդիրն այս իշխանությունների համար գոյություն չունի, հակառակ պարագայում կփորձեին կոնսենսուսի գալ եւ այնպես անել, որ ընդդիմությունն էլ մասնակցի ՀՀ նախագահի ընտրությանը:
