ԱՄՆ Նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը ասել է, որ աշխարհի խոշորագույն խմբի՝ Մեծ Յոթնյակի տնտեսությունները Ռուսաստանին կզրկեն առևտրի բարենպաստ ազգի կարգավիճակից՝ որպես արտահանող երկրի:

Ըստ Բայդենի՝ այս քայլով Կրեմլին, որը շարունակում է իր ագրեսիան Ուկրաինայի դեմ, ևս մեկ շոշափելի հարված կհասցվի։ Ջո Բայդենը Վլադիմիր Պուտինին ագրեսոր է անվանել՝ հավելելով, որ ՌԴ նախագահը պետք է «վճարի» իր գործողությունների համար։
 
Ըստ Ամերիկայի ձայնի, ԱՄՆ նախագահը զգուշացրել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը պատժամիջոցների տակ գտնվող ռուս օլիգարխների ցուցակում կավելացվեն նոր անուններ և կարգելվի Ռուսաստանից շքեղ ապրանքների ներմուծումը, այդ թվում՝ ադամանդի, օղի և ծովամթերքի։ Նախագահն ընդգծեց նաև, որ դա դեռևս ձեռնարկված վերջին քայլերից չեն:
 
Ռուսաստանի իշխանությունները Ուկրաինայի տարածքում Մոսկվայի սանձազերծած պատերազմն անվանում են «հատուկ գործողություն»։
 
Ռուսաստանի՝ որպես առավել բարենպաստ առևտրային արտահանող երկրի կարգավիճակի վերացումը, Միացյալ Նահանգների և նրա դաշնակիցների համար հնարավորություն է ընձեռում մաքսատուրքեր սահմանել ռուսական ապրանքների մեծ մասի վնկատմամբ՝ ավելի մեծացնելով ճնշումը Ռուսաստանի տնտեսության վրա, որն արդեն իսկ ցնցումներ է վերապրում:
 
Վաշինգտոնի, Լոնդոնի և այլ դաշնակիցների համակարգված գործողությունները կլինեն ի հավելում աննախադեպ պատժամիջոցների, արտահանման վերահսկողության և բանկային սահմանափակումների, որոնք արդեն գործում են՝ Պուտինին ստիպելու դադարեցնել պատերազմը Եվրոպայում:
 
Սպիտակ տան վարչակազմի աղբյուրների համաձայն՝ յուրաքանչյուր երկիր պետք է վերացնի Ռուսաստանի արտոնյալ առևտրային կարգավիճակը՝ իր օրենսդրության հիման վրա։ Միացյալ Նահանգներում դա կպահանջի Կոնգրեսի վավերացում, սակայն երկու պալատների օրենսդիրները՝ և՛ դեմոկրատները, և՛ հանրապետականները, արդեն աջակցություն են հայտնել այդ քայլին:
 
Ռուսաստանից ներմուծվող հիմնական ապրանքները ներառում են հանքային վառելիք, թանկարժեք մետաղներ և քարեր, երկաթ և պողպատ, պարարտանյութեր և անօրգանական քիմիական նյութեր: Այս բոլոր ապրանքները կենթարկվեն մաքսատուրքերի այն բանից հետո, երբ Կոնգրեսը կհաստատի Սպիտակ տան որոշումը։
 
«Միացյալ Նահանգները, մեր դաշնակիցները և գործընկերները շարունակում են ձեռք ձեռքի տված աշխատել Պուտինի վրա տնտեսական ճնշումը մեծացնելու և Ռուսաստանին համաշխարհային ասպարեզում ավելի մեկուսացնելու համար», - ասել է Բայդենը։
 
Նախագահը նաև նախազգուշացրել է, որ Ռուսաստանը «ահռելի վնաս կկրի», եթե քիմիական զենք օգտագործի՝ հավելելով, որ Ռուսաստանի և ՆԱՏՕ-ի միջև ցանկացած ուղղակի առճակատում կարող է Երրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի պատճառ դառնալ։
