Կիյոսակիի մեկնաբանությունները հայտնվել են այն ժամանակ, երբ տնտեսագետները կանխատեսում են, որ ԱՄՆ-ը ռեցեսիայի եզրին է: Bank of America-ն վերջերս հրապարակել է գալիք տարվա իր համաշխարհային տնտեսության կանխատեսումները եւ կանխատեսել հաջորդ տարի ԱՄՆ-ում, Եվրոպայում եւ Մեծ Բրիտանիայում սպասվող ռեցեսիան:

Կիյոսակին նախազգուշացրել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը գնում է մոտալուտ տնտեսական փլուզման: Նա Twitter-ում գրել է, որ տնտեսական ճգնաժամի պայմաններում ներդրողները կարող են անձեռնմխելի պահել իրենց կապիտալը՝ այն բեռնելով ոսկով, արծաթով եւ բիթքոյնով:

Կիյոսակին խորհուրդ է տվել ստեղծել եկամտի տարբեր աղբյուրներ՝ տնտեսական կոլապսի դեմ պայքարելու համար. «Ոսկին, արծաթը, բիթքոյնը կարող են պաշտպանել ձեր հարստությունը, սակայն ոչ ձեր եկամուտը: Երբ տնտեսությունը փլուզվում է, արժեթղթերի շուկաները փլուզվում են, թոշակները փլուզվում են, եւ գործազրկությունն աճում է, լրացուցիչ աշխատանքները կարող են եկամուտ բերել ձեզ: Զգույշ եղե՛ք. զգոնությունը մի՛ կորցրեք»:
