Հասարակական-քաղաքական գործիչ Ավետիք Չալաբյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.

Թուրքիայում տեղի ունեցած աղետալի երկրաշարժի շուրջ բարձրացած աժիոտաժը, և ՀՀ իշխանությունների հակասական քայլերը ստվերել են այն կարևորագույն իրողությունը, որ նույն երկրաշարժից նաև մեծապես տուժել է բարեկամական Սիրիան, և մասնավորապես նրա հոծաթիվ հայկական համայնքը:
 
Այսօր մեր «Համախմբում» շարժման պատվիրակությունը այցելեց Հայաստանում Սիրիայի դեսպանություն, մեր զորակցությունը հայտնելու նրա բարեկամ ժողովրդին: Հանդիպելով դեսպան տիկին Նորա Արիսյանի հետ, մենք նաև քննարկեցինք երկրաշարժից տուժած մեր հայրենակիցներին անհապաղ օժանդակություն հասցնելու հիմնական տարբերակները, հաշվի առնելով նաև, որ երկիրը գտնվում է արևմտյան պատժամիջոցների տակ:
