Արցախը թշնամուն հանձնելու մասին Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի մայիսի 22-ի հայտարարությանը հաջորդած արձագանքների շարքում, անկասկած, հարկ է առանձնացնել Մայր աթոռ սուրբ Էջմիածնում հրավիրված Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհրդի հայտարարությունը: Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին, պետք է ասել, այս դժնի և օրհասական իրավիճակում, իր բարձրության վրա է և, բնականաբար, իր ժողովրդի հետ ու նրա կողքին, ազգին ու մեր պետականությանն սպառնացող շոշափելի վտանգներով առավել քան մտահոգ: Էական է այն, որ Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհուրդը Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի՝ «խաղաղության» անվան տակ վարած քաղաքականությունն ու դիրքորոշումները որակում է որպես վտանգավոր ու մերժելի: Այսինքն, առավել քան հստակ գնահատական է տրվում:

Ավելին, Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհուրդը օրվա իշխանությանը հորդորում է «հրաժարվել պարտվողական մտայնությունից և դրանից բխող կործանարար քայլերից, համազգային մարտահրավերների հաղթահարման համար գտնել խելամիտ ու արժանապատիվ լուծումներ»: Հարկավ, կարող են գտնվել «գիտունիկներ» (նույնիսկ կարող ենք, առանց սխալվելու հավանականության, նշել, թե որ «կուսակցության» գրասենյակում ու վերնախավում), որոնք Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհրդի հայտարարությունը և, առհասարակ, Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին ու հոգևոր առաջնորդներին կփորձեն մեղադրել «աշխարհիկ գործերին» կամ քաղաքականությանը խառնվելու մեջ: Դե, Փաշինյանն օրումեջ է արդեն ինչ-որ բաներ հայտարարում Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու հասցեին, ու դա ամենևին պատահական չէ: Բայց այդ մեղադրանքները ոչ միայն մտացածին են, այլև անիմաստ: Խնդիրը, որը Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհրդի հայտարարություն ընդունելու անհրաժեշտությանն է հասել, համազգային է, վերքաղաքական:

Խոսքն առհասարակ մեր պետության, որպես պետականակիր ժողովուրդ՝ մեր ազգի հետագա գոյության, առնվազն՝ մեր Հայրենիքի մի հսկայական հատվածում հայության բնաջնջման սպառնալիքի ու նաև այն մասին է, որ ՀՀ ղեկավար ներկայացող անձը խաղում է պետության ու ազգի ճակատագրի հետ: Էլ ո՞վ կամ ո՞ր կառույցը պիտի առավել քան մտահոգվեր ու արձագանքեր, եթե ոչ հենց վերպետական ու համազգային Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին: Այժմ «գնդակը» երկրի քաղաքական ուժերի, հասարակական-ազգային շրջանակների դաշտում է...
